FS: 1993 W124 300D 2.5 Turbo
SOLD
Hi, I'm selling my 93 300D as we're scaling back our fleet since my wife has recently left her job to be a stay at home mom. I can only justify having 2 cars now and have decided to sell this one. It currently has 196850 miles and is running great. I had the air conditioning serviced by a local Mercedes independent very recently and he also did my belt tensioner pulley as he found the bearing had gone. I also just had the front and rear flex discs replaced and at the same time, they recommended doing the carrier bearing and mount which I also had done. The previous owner mentioned that he changed the vacuum pump (it is not the original vacuum pump but I have no record of when this was done) The tires are still very good. Brakes should likely be done in the next year sometime. I bought this car a year ago from the 3rd owner in Maryland who had it for 6 years. I've put a lot of time and money into is over the last year and was planning to keep it forever, but I recently cracked the oil pan when I ran over a brick and am not in the position to fix this myself or to pay to have it done at the dealership. The hole has been patched with an aluminum plate and sealed with high temperature aluminum epoxy. It is not leaking and could likely be driven for a long while, but I would guess that most of the members reading this forum would have the equipment and skill to replace it. What prevents me from doing it is lifting the engine up with a hoist to get the pan out, so if you can do this sort of DIY it might be a good deal for you. The interior is clean with cremebeige/mushroom MBtex. I had the console recovered in MBtex and it looks great. I also stripped and refinished the console wood, which was badly cracked and it now looks excellent. The car is clean and although not professionally detailed, I waxed it for the photos and shampooed the upholstery for the new owner. The original stereo has been replaced with a decent Dual deck that pays MP3s and has XM satellite radio and XM antenna installed. It also has an Aux line in for MP3 player, which I currently place in the astray. I also have the original Becker radio with amplifier, radio code card etc, if you want to have it refurbished and return it to stock. All electrics work except the power front headrests and the ambient temperature LCD. I have a replacement ambient temp sensor which I have tested, so it needs just an LCD. The exterior paint is mostly original from what I can tell. The clearcoat on the roof is cracked and there is some fading elsewhere, although not nearly as bad as the roof. The left side is near perfect but the right side has a minor ding on the rear door and a ding and small crease where the previous owner must have tried to remove a larger ding. There is also a stone chip to the front right wheel well that has some surface rust. I have tried to capture the imperfections in the photos. I would not hesitate to jump in this car and driving it across country. I have driven it daily for the last year and know it inside and out. It has consitently been getting 32 mpg since I've owned it and is a smooth shifting, great car to drive. I have several parts that I intended to install, which I will give to the buyer, including ATF filter and gasket (x2), Mahle main fuel filter, Mahle oil filter (x2), strut mount rubber (mounts, bumpers, boots) and many other minor parts I've accumulated I also recently purchased the pressure activated wastegate from ATP Turbo and EGR blocking plate for this car and was planning on doing the swap. There are currently no problems with the EGR system and I was waiting on its failure or to have the time to do this, but didn't get a chance. You are welcome to come for a test drive if you are local and fly in if you are not. I am 10 minutes from Dulles airport. SOLD Thanks, Rod P.S.
