Is that a M104 2.8 liter? With ASR? That is a pretty rare setup, I've never seen one before....

A lot of people don't want a car with the ASR system....that might be why it is slow to sell....at least around here...

Looks like a really nice example though.

Since you posted looking for help...

1) mentioning a dog wont help, but its good for "full disclosure" reasons.

2) Your car is for sale up against a stack of similar 300E's with more power(?) and the same interior appointments - gasser W124 300E's are a dime a dozen on the used market.

3) Most MB buyers are in the midwest or the coasts...part of the problem is location.

on the plus side, your car doesnt have the annoying fuel-economy gauge =)

Have you advertised on Craigslist ? Auto Trader ? cars.com ? Your asking price is not out of line.

I'm not sure what the power is from the 2.8L M104, I think it has more low-end torque & power than the M103 and possibly more HP.

It will get better mileage though.

Looks like a decent car at a fair price, just needs a buyer. Can't be too picky in these seller's market times, be patient but aggressive in selling the car. Contact the couple of people looking here, on the for-sale and the tech forum, looking for 124s and 201s. For about the price of a 201 190E, plus more power and similar fuel mileage, I think you might be able to move someone up into a larger-safer car.

The 2.8 liter M104 has 195 HP; it's up ~20HP on the M103. I doubt it has more torque, being smaller displacement.

What's the indication the car has ASR? I don't see it.

Have the seats been changed out? The upholstery pattern does not look correct for a late 124 - that looks like Tex from an early 124 car.

Headlight washers are not common on the 2.8, they were an option.

The M104 has a much flatter power curve, more low-end torque and power than the M103, and is geared taller because of it. Variable valve-timing and EFI have their benefit.

Seller mentioned throttle actuator, which indicates ASR, unless he used the wrong term (could be the CC which is in the throttle-body).

Seats are standard '93 MB-tex, I was in a gray-tex '93 300E 2.8 last Thursday and it's identical.

Correct on the wiper/washer.

Thanks for the input.

This car does not have ASR - I did use the wrong term. The part I had repaired was the throttle body with the CC (part #000 141 57 25). It had the same insulation issue as the main wiring harness.

The seats are original MB-Tex and are in very good shape. That stuff appears to be pretty much bomb proof.

The original buyer got the headlight wipers and the telescoping steering column as options.

Thanks again and I'll keep trying to find buyer.
