Well maintained and cared for car, already in mint condition, well worth a new engine if ever needed.

Let's no go that far. Mint ones are sitting in the Classic center in Irvine and the Mercedes museum in Germany. This is just a very nice example, that probably won't need an engine for a very long time.

I can attest that everything stated in Tyler's ad for 'Ol Turbo not only is true, but modestly understated.
I'm over-stepping my bounds a bit, but don't start asking nickel and dime questions about this car. It is solid, it is beautiful, it drives perfectly and it is so under priced that I fell out of my chair when I saw this ad and the listed price!!
This is also a forum legacy car and immediately vaults the new owner to semi-rock star status.
Anybody wanting to pay a fair amount for an above average Mercedes won't regret this for a second of their life.
I digress.........

Maybe I should buy it.
OH. Wait.
I'm already standing on a rock --- see avatar.

I can't believe he is selling this car. Well, maybe he has decided to keep something RED.

I wonder what shipping would be to a big stop near NYC.

I'm seriously considering, but regardless I know it will go to a very lucky forum member. Same color as my old sedan, but in much better condition.

Any rips/sags in the front seats? What's the blowby situation, and how are the rear axle boots?
UriahT --- I'll be happy to drive it up to you for a small service fee.

Well, its capable of making it to Sacramento, but it would probably be easier to put out an ad at uship.com. Its set up sort of like ebay. You list the shipment, and shippers looking to cram every load they can bid against each other. I've gotten some good deals that way.

I'm sure Ol' Turbo would make it to Sacramento if the buyer would drive it all the way back. It went from Kansas to California and back with no problems.

I think that referral was from me...

Good luck with your sale. I am sure the next owner will enjoy that car for many more years to come. If I was able to, I would jump at the chance to purchase your car.
Pardon me if you have already answered this. But are you looking to get out of the Mercedes/diesel scene?

No. My hope is to sell this car and start a new project, ideally a homely little diesel to bring back home and fix up in my spare time, just like I did with Ol' Turbo, Norm, the Defiant, and Trigger. Right now, all my cars have nice paint, and no outstanding mechanical issues (knock on wood). I got burned out with working on cars last year, but am feeling the urge for some reason again.

I've also been spoiled by my modern cars, and will favor them for most road trips. So Ol' Turbo has become a garage queen, which was OT's intended use. I only have a 2 car garage, and it sickens me to think about which cars have to sit outside in the elements. The SL is stashed in the garage over at my parents for the winter, along with Ingrid until the buyer picks her up next week. Ol' Turbo is garaged with me at home along with the C36. My poor Excelsior with its beautiful black paint has to sit outside.

To Summarize: Yes, more diesels. I want to sell because of lack of use and garage space.

Well that is good to here. It's funny to me, that I was thinking maybe you were starting to favor newer cars as well! It's good to hear you sill wanna stay in the MB diesel family! Once again, good luck with your sale. Can't believe it has sold yet. I would think someone on this forum would jump on it quick. I really like the looks of Ingrid as well. I would like someday to have a 300SE or SEL from around that vintage for my wife. Maybe someday!
