1966 250S For Sale

Hey guys, I am looking to send my '66 250S off to a good home. She is in pretty good condition for a car that is 40+ years old but at the same time she has her flaws.

I have spend around 3000 dollars in the past year or so to make her a daily driver, the bulk of that went into a complete break overhaul ($1200) and having both Zenith Carbs rebuilt ($1200). Also have had ignition system replaced(plugs, wires, dist cap & rotor, points & cond...etc).

A few things I would suggest to get done. Replace window gaskets(front and rear), 3 windows need to be put back on tracks( I believe its the plastic roller that needs to be replaced on FR, BR and BL), Power steering flush,(wines when turning at idle), she is due for new paint.

I wouldn't hesitate to drive her cross country, I did...and that was before I put the 3 grand into her. Made the trip from Michigan down to South Carolina with no problems.

Looking to get a fair price and send her home with a fellow Benz enthusiast, would like to get back what I have into her but I'm a reasonable guy, so I will take reasonable offer.
Here is a link to a few photos, I can provide more upon request as well as documentation for all service done. Thanks

-Curt

Hey 300SD, the car is currently in South Carolina. I'm from Michigan but stationed down here right now with the Air Force.

TxJake, surprisingly the AC does work. However, I believe it has a slow leak. I filled it at the beggining of the summer and by the end of the summer I could tell it needed refilling. So a charge at the start of the summer season will get you by untill the fall when you can just cruise with the windows down. These old AC units work pretty good for thier age, however compared to newer cars they leave something to be desired, esp on those hot and humid summer days. But I guess thats what makes it a classic car.

tonkovich, to tell you the truth I'm really not sure if they are leather or MB TEX. It can be hard to tell the diff between the two sometimes. I'll take a closer look as soon as I get a chance and get back to you with a definitive answear. In regards to your other question, it is a floor shifting automatic.

Curtis, I sent you a PM with my phone number. I'm in Atlanta and would like to come up and look at the car when possible.

update

(FL,BL,BR)Windows are being put back on tracks tomorrow. Vacuum leak indicates brake booster may need to be rebuilt or replaced, could be just a line. However, I have not had the time to investigate further so will account for worst case scenario. That being said price now lowered to $2200.

Tires are good, no problems there. Plenty of tread.
