Cars made for the UK, Japan and AU are right hand drive. I am sure there are others but most are left hand drive.

Only England would be right hand drive. Every other country in Europe would be same as the US. As for the bumpers and interior. Not sure if they are euro or not as I can't see the bumpers with a clear shot from the side. If there was a better shot we could be certain as the US ones would protrude significantly . This does look like it could have Euro bumpers but not sure. The cloth interior is likely euro though I've seen an 83 126 300SD with the cloth interior. It was special ordered for the car. What I don't see is the vacume wheel for the headlight level adjustment which should be on the center fascia. Unless my eyes decieve me. The lights were federalized but there should still be a switch there if it's grey market. Also the HVAC controls are US not Euro, thought that doesn't guarantee anythting as that was an option on Euro cars as well. The unleaded gas sticker could have been added when it was federalized as well I guess. Best would be to check the VIN.

- Peter.

Just verified it's a Euro model. The VIN is WDB1260371...

Kinda wish I had the money for restoration now, I'd keep the car for myself.

Although it is an interesting spec, it is not a valuable car because of lack of rarity. Restoration of it would not make any sense at this time....perhaps sometime in a few decades if it escapes the crusher.

That said the v8s are very very rugged cars and if you simply wanted to maintain it and have fun with it it would be fine...although a thirsty proposition fuel wise.

They drive very very well if in good shape mechanically.

I know what you mean. After asking a round a bit for a general idea of what it should sell for, knowing that it runs, that it doesn't leak and oil and it being a Euro model $1500 seems like a fair price. The owner might even take less if it doesn't sell right away.

1500 seems fair to me . I don't need another right now.. although I feel a V8 w126 is the ideal highway car. The SD just plain "sings" too loud on the highway for me. I am sure an SDL would be cool too but the V8 would have that nice grunt when you start the launch sequence.

I had an 84 500sec. It was a simply lovely car to drive....loads of power and really durable. I bought it with 80K on it and in three years ran it up to 145K.

After I stopped driving it every day I put hoosiers on it and ran one summers worth of autocross with it. It surprised a lot of smaller cars in HS.

Very rugged, good looking and nimble car for its weight and size.

it was as good or better than a 617 turbo for lack of problems.

Will Mickey Mouse be there?

Just kidding. But if you move to Florida, Disney world is closer for me.

That reminds me of that song by Weezer,

Beverly Hills... That's where I want to be! (gimme, gimme)
Living in Beverly Hills...
Beverly Hills... Rolling like a celebrity! (gimme, gimme)
Living in Beverly Hills...

Honestly, I've been talking about moving to California for years, years! One day I heard, "proposition 215," my ears perked up and I was sold.
