FS: 1995 C36 AMG, Near Time Capsule, Imperial Red, Wichita KS, $6950

With my SL back in service, and the costs mounting associated with starting my own business, I've reluctantly decided to pass along the C36 to someone else. I know me being reluctant sounds silly considering how many other MBs I've had, but when you read the description of this car you'll know why. Its the nicest condition MB I have ever owned.

I purchased this C36 from a big enthusiast in Memphis. He had recently purchased a gray market G-wagon and needed the cash/garage space to finish his project. To make extra money in his younger years, he would detail cars. The fastidiousness showed when I first came to pick it up. Every nook and cranny was spotless, and it was a shame having to drive it 8 hours home in the rain. He was owner number 3; he acquired the car from his brother who took it in on trade at his dealer. John claimed the original owner was the owner of the local Mercedes dealership, and kept it for many years.

Unfortunately the PO of my car inherited alot of deferred maintenance, and during his 5 years of ownership put will over $10,000 in the car. I don't have the detailed service receipts for all the little items, but the biggies will be attached in a PDF.

Head Gasket
Complete Head Rebuild
New Timing Chain
Chain Rails and Tensioner
Engine Wiring Harness
Throttle Body
Front brake rotors and pads all around
Fan Clutch
New headlinder

There were many other little items done to the car such as a power seat motor replacement, AC service, Transmission and various fluid changes, that the PO didn't have on hand. Obviously he didn't skimp on anything, as most would have just put a new head gasket in and called it a day. He also added some cosmetic touches such as an avantgarde grill, clear corners, and replaced the hood star with a flat badge.

During my ownership, I have also done some work to it. The car had quite a bit of road chips on the front bumper, so I chose to have it repainted. It was also was not tracking straight upon purchase, the culprit being a ruptured ball joint. Within the last 300 miles, I've had the vehicle serviced and a complete inspection done by my indy.

As you can see, with the bumper resprayed the car looks as close to new as I've ever had with a MB. There are no paint or body issues with this car, and clearly its been garaged its whole life. There are still a few road chips on the hood and side mirrors, but the paint is in astounding condition overall. The last thing I planned to do to this car was have the curb rash on the wheels cleaned up. I was quoted $300 to do all 4 by the same company that redid my vintage AMG pentas, which I would be happy have done at the next owner's expense.

The interior in this car is incredible. The leather is soft and perfectly worn in, and the new black headliner makes the rest of the interior pop. There are just a few hairline cracks in the veneer of the wood, and some light wear on gray part of the shifter.

Currently the car has 133,000 miles on it. I don't think there's a nicer C36 on the market right now, and normally when a car like this comes for sale its priced to the moon. I will part with it for $6950. This is one of those cars I'd really like to see go to a forum member and hear updates on.

What are the odds of two (2) Imperial Red C36 AMG cars being sold at the same time by forum members?

Out of curiosity, what business are you starting up?

you can specify the photo size to be displayed right in photobucket

very nice car tyler. I should have traded you the cabrio when I had the chance since this beast probably gets better mpgs lol. Insurance would be a pita since those three letters usually cost a lot more!

-actually, for S&G's i did a quick quote and its the same each month.. lol-

I bought the car without them. Either they were removed for aesthetics or more likely the low nose got munched into the curb. All the paint looked to be its original finish when I bought it except the bumper. That's why repainting it didn't hurt my feelings much.

if you go to the window that opens when you hover over the image hit link options and check off the thumbnail code for boards and forums. So that way you can post up thumbs that will link to the full size versions. that way a potential buyer can see small thumbs ya know and say to himself.. hmm I want to see a bigger version of this bumper shot, thank god I dont have to sift through 1000 massive photos

I wanted to look at your pics but im at school and everyone and their mother and law is on the wifi so its a little slow for large files

also, is it imperial red or signal red? the russian site said my cabrio is imperial red but pierre says signal red. Could be the same red for all I know

Me deliver personally? I guess there's a fun GTG coming up... Realistically though I probably won't have the time to get away.

I've sold cars to other forum members out of state, and usually we find cheap shipping through uship. With this car I would try to find enclosed if possible.

Very nice C36 Tyler, I love these little launchers...

* Is the AC R134 & how strong would you rate your AC (I know you mentioned that it was serviced...)?
** Tires: how much tread left?

I'd pay your asking price, but judging from the house the photos are taken at, you should sell it to me for $2K, and then sell those garage doors for $4,950, and you'll have all your money.

GLWS!! Great looking car.

I use my parent's driveway for photographs. My place is much less dramatic.

Thanks Bruce
