FS: 1982 W123 300D in MI Needs Trans $500

1982 W123 300D

I bought this car 6 years ago and has been my daily driver. It had 124K on it when I bought it. The Odometer stopped working around 140K. The current Odometer reading is 1695xx. My work commute was 20 miles for 4 years and 80 for 2 years, round trip. The trans gave out, I had another one put in and that one has now died.

The engine has some blow by and low power. No, I don't have compression numbers. A compression test was performed a few years ago and the numbers were good then. And no, I don't have those numbers either. It leaks oil.

The interior is in good shape. It's MB Tex. The driver seat has a scratch from getting in with something in back pocket, and is also "sagging."

I painted the lower half of the car a few years back. There were a few small rust spots that were fixed at that time.

It leaks when it rains. Needs windshield rubber.

It has brand new tires on it.

It needs a trans.

Asking $500.

Send PM or email if interested.

Thanks,
Mike

Black interior and no dash cracks! Wish I could tell a piston from a plug . . .

How desperately do you want this thing gone? I'm just debating whether or not it would be worth the trip out from Chicago with a trailer and the Suburban.

In hind site I probably could have got more for it, but I needed it gone since I have another car ('55 180) coming home this Saturday. My wife would be even more upset if I brought another car home without getting rid of one first.
