FS: 1974 240D, w115, 4 Speed Manual - $3000

Dropping the price a bit. I guess there's not too much interest in the old 115's anymore. If there is no interest here, I'm going to list in on ebay.

I've got too many cars and need to sell one. The 240D is in better shape than my wagon, and since I have no garage to store this in, I'd rather sell this one so someone else can take good care of it. Location is New Cumberland, PA (Harrisburg, PA area)

The car is in good condition and starts, runs, and drives well. Floor pans have no rust! See pics below. This car has been well kept and deserves to live in a garage. There was some rust just behind some of the wheels, but this was ground away and repaired recently. There was also a surface rust spot on the trunk lid that I sanded down and primed. Just above the headlights, there is some some small bubbling paint. I plan to sand this area and prime it as well. The paint looks good, its been painted at some point in the past, you can see some overspray here and there (like under the hood). But with the areas where rust was removed and primed, its probably a good idea to paint the whole car. I don't know if spot painting these areas with topcoat would look uneven. I planned to paint the whole car, but my plans have changed :\

The blower works!

I got this car 2 years ago and have since driven it as a semi-daily driver. When the weather was nice, I drove this or my motorcycle. During the winter, I had the 240D parked off the street and drove the wagon, so I've tried my best to keep salt off of it.

Recent work includes:
- Just passed PA inspection
- New front brake pads, rotors, and flexible lines
- Steering box attachment to frame repaired
- Gearshift bushings replaced (shifter end and transmission end)
- Repaired odometer
- New tires
- OEM fog lights added
- New front windshield and seal
- Glow plugs replaced with pencil style plugs
- New stereo installed with front and rear speakers and subwoofer (under passenger seat)

A/C does not work. I planned to evacuate the system and install Envirosafe ES-12 but did not get to it. You can have a couple cans if you'd like.
Rear defroster does not work (probably the grid in the rear window is rusted and has lost continuity)

Odometer reads ~53,000 miles. I don't have any records from before my ownership, it could be 153,000 or more, I don't know how long the odometer was broken before I got it. I've only driven it about 10,000 miles in the last two years.

There are two independent Mercedes mechanics nearby (one is my regular mechanic that knows the car well) and one Mercedes dealer, if you'd like to schedule a pre-purchase inspection.

I don't check my PM's every day, its probably best to email me,

How are the front and back seats, are they in good shape?
Any rust behind the engine on the fire wall?
Any pictures of the engine?
$3000.00 would be easy to get with no rust at all.
