1953 Adenauer

This car does not belong to me.

I've seen this car sitting in the drive for sale for a month now.
Tired of seeing it wasting away outside thought I'd post it up hopeful someone might be able to get back on the road or at least be used for parts.

Car is in Lexington, Ky right off exit 115 on I-64/I-75.

Here are some pic's I took from the road and a shot of the for-sale sign with a little info and a contact #. Please don't contact me with questions about the car, use the # on the for-sale sign.

Would that be on Newtown Pike going North from the Interstates?

That car looks like a fellow could perhaps afford to fix it mechanically and have some fun with it. A cosmetic restoration would probably not work out financially.

I do NOT know the car. I was trying to recall if I still knew Exit 115 --- I use to live in the Central Bluegrass area. Beautiful country roads up there around Lexington.

The parts prices for that car look horrendous. I can't seem to find any viable comps for that car in a restored state.

Wonder what the scribbled out price is? $65,000?

Some people think 50's Benz and see MEEELIIIOOONS of dollar signs.

A few years back I had a hankering for one of those and you could find some pretty nice looking ones for about 25 to 30K. Don't know if that is still the range or not. They are very elegant cars but not overly rare and very expensive to restore, so you really cannot afford to do one.

I have owned two.

They can be money pits. They are very well built, in general.

There are two guys who buy up all the parts and screw with everyone on them.

One is Ebay seller ATVM, aka Roger Wychgram, aka Arend Wychgram. He has a reputation for demanding the highest price and delivering 95% . You get the drift.

Well the car is not in the drive anymore.

I hope someone bought it rather than it being sent to the scrap yard.
