FOR SALE: 1966 MB 250se W111 coupe. Beautiful car!

FOR SALE: 1966 MB 250se W111 coupe. Beautiful car!

With great regret I am putting my "other woman" up for sale. I love this car to death, but with recent issues with income, I have decided it would be better if I let her go. Here are details:

1966 Mercedes Benz 250se Coupe
Full Euro spec car imported back in the early 1970's
4 speed on the floor manual transmission
Beautiful Madagascar Ebony interior wood trim(redone by Heritage Woodworks)
Power Sunroof!

Looking for around $6500, but will entertain any reasonable offer.

I got the car about 1.5 years ago and have enjoyed it ever since. It was owned by a gentlemen here in Chattanooga. He had owned it for 7 years prior. He purchased the car from a doctor in Seattle WA and had the car shipped to TN back in 2001. The PO drove the car daily without any issues for about 6 months and then decided he would start the restoration process. He parked the car hoping to start on the restoration soon after. As we all know things happen and he didn't even touch the car for 6 years. It stayed covered up in a workshop for 6 years being untouched. I saw the car sitting there and instantly fell in love with it. I talked with the owner and towed the car away in December of 2008. When I got the car, it didn't run and was a sore sight to see. I put quite a bit of love into the car and it looks and drives wonderful now. I put new plugs, wires, points, Dis cap, battery, oil change and she fired right up! Ive really enjoyed driving this car around town. She is a looker!

The chrome on the car is in wonderful shape. The only issue with chrome parts is a small dent on the rear bumper. Looks like something bumped it. The wooden dash is in flawless shape. It was redone by Heritage Woodworks in North Carolina about 2 years ago. I have all the dash pieces wrapped up and just waiting to be installed! There were 2 small flaws in the A-pillar wood pieces. They just need to be sent back to Heritage. He said it would cost around $150 to $250 to redo both of them. It really is a beautiful sight. All the glass is in wonderful shape. New rear window back in 2002. Seals fine and does not leak. The car was originally a light grey color. I am not positive on when the car was repainted in black, but it appears they did a quality job. The paint was bad when I got it, but now it shines very nice. Its not prefect, but it is perfect paint for a drivers car. The car currently sits on some period correct wire wheels that date back to the mid-60's. They are in AWESOME shape and I think make the appearance of the car more "sporty". Tires are pretty new as well. They only have around 3000 miles on them. I have a ton of new/nos/used parts that will come with the car when purchased. You could probably build another 111 coupe out of all the parts I have! I have new chrome rocker panels, 2 fuel injeciton pumps(1 rebuilt), pair of Euro headlamps, a couple front grills, new chrome interior parts, 1 full black interior, brand new headliner, etc. If you can think of it then I probably have it in a box somewhere! Its all stored in a storage unit.

Interior wood:

As much as I do love the car, it does have a few bad points. Since it was on the coast for most of its life, there is defiantly some rust on the car. While its not as bad as other 111s I have seen, it does need to be brought to buyers attention. There is a smaller bubble of rust starting to form on the underneath/side of the driver-side taillight, A smaller rust area behind the passenger side seat in the floorboard, a small portion of rust underneath the drivers side rear fender(where water goes while driven in the rain). The front floor-pans are fine and the trunk area looks good. I planned on starting restoration on the car, so I pulled out every piece of carpet and all other interior pieces for this purpose. That's how I found the rust issues lying beneath. All that's left on the interior is the headliner and front seats. Its a little fun driving a "gutted" classic! The muffler has a rust hole in it as well. It is quite loud! All around its well above average from others I have seen and is a very solid car.

The car is located in Chattanooga TN. About 1.5 hours from Atlanta, 2 hours from Nashville. Id be willing to meet anyone wanting to view the car. I'm sure I am leaving a ton of info out as I can talk about the car all day long. Please feel free to ask me any other questions you may have. I'm not quite sure what to price it at right now. Any comments/info on how to price it would be great. Would love to hear your feedback. If you have any other questions please give me a call at 423-488-2773 or email me at bimmerdrivin1@yahoo.com. Thanks! On to the pics!

The wheels are 1960's Dayton wires. I looked at the date stamp when I first got the car but I cant remember exactly when they were made. It was mid 60's though.

Alright I can play hardball.... $1850

Seriously though good luck. You might try hemmings or something "high class" like that to sell it. I am sure you can fetch a pretty penny for it.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. It not that I didnt want to post a price. I honestly just didnt know what to ask for the car. So many variables with these things. I feel like anything over $6500 is fair, but I will entertain any reasonable offers.

Wow, incredible ride. There's got to be someone out there that would love to have this. I wonder about overseas? How many are left there? Another thought, any MB dealership should have this placed indoors, silent selling tool!

Thanks! I agree. Unfortunatly our MB dealership here in my town frowns upon any MB that is older than a 2009 model!
