Looking for a 1994-95 E320 wagon

2 years back, I purchased a 1994 E320 that probably should have been parted out. Since that time, I have nursed it back to a daily driver and have put 40K on it. She is topping 180K soon and was debating some major fixes when I got rearended last week. The Chevy cobalt that hit me looked like it hit a brick wall and the wagon received damage to the tailgate and rear bumper.

This got me to the point of considering the replacement option versus rebuild. I love this vehicle style and would like another 1994.

If anyone has a 1994-1995 E320 Wagon within 2-3 hours of eastern PA they would like to part with - lets talk.

Brian.

For the miles, to me it seems a bit pricey, since nationally folks agree with 0 bids @ $5,500 - which may not even be Reserve.

Given the level of care and the amount of things done to it I think the high 5's are reasonable for that car. I wouldn't part with mine for any less, but mine's, well, got something over the others.

Tyler, 040 Kombi? You suck. And if you have black leather or tex, you suck even more!

It may be the angle but you need to tweak your SLS just a tad in the back and make it squat lower.

Kelley on these is $6,500 in great condition. Granted a well cared for car is worth a bit more.

I am looking for one in decent shape - not necessarily perfect in the $4500-$6000 range.

On a side note, I noticed most of the interiors are tan/beige. Mine is grey - is that a common interior? My searching to date seems to indicate otherwise.

Gray is not that uncommon, especially with the sliver and white shades of wagon. Mine happens to be a saddle interior, a rare one, but not as rare as black.

I imagine you could have the one listed at the maximum of your budget. He has it listed on the other forum asking $6500. A year ago he was asking $10,000 for it.

When you say saddle, do you mean what MB calls "Safron"? (don't remember the leather color code). If so, that's what I have on my mbtex and I get many comments on it: Anthracite on Safron. I love the color code and rarely see it around, but a black on black wagon would be the tits (040 on safron would be soft on the eyes, too).

Our 95 E320 wagon is brilliant silver with black MB Tex. Would have loved to have found a black one like Tyler's, but I prefer to buy on condition and provenance rather than color, so we ended up with a car that looked just like our old one.....A just out of Starmark warranty car that has full records, garage kept, all niggles attended to and all service up to date is hard to resist, especially when you know the owner, and he is anal about keeping the car 'perfect'. A car like this will generally command high book, or better.

Our previous wagon (87 TD) was astral silver with a dark blue interior.
It's amazing how much richer the black interior looks compared to the dark blue. Maybe it's the more extensive use of wood trim in the 95.... Nah....

I've had four late-124 leather interiors: Palomino, Gray, Black, and Mushroom. The black is "head and shoulders" richer looking, the dark color sets the wood off much better than any of the others.

It's unfortunate that this wasn't a more popular interior "color".

At "$6,000" the one captioned on E-Bay by Tyler fits the bill then.

I don't believe the seller would pass on a $6,000 cash offer.....

Agreed the black interiors on the W124's are way better looking than any other interior. My wagon has the mushroom interior and it does not contrast very well with the wood etc. I think the worst has to be the blue interiors. My W124 Diesel has the ubiquitous Pearl Black with a Black Interior and its amazing how the grains of the zebrano wood "pop" with a black interior.

My dream car would be a W124 wagon variant with a white exterior and black interior, but I have only seen one with this color combo.

Saddle is different than saffron. Saddle, think the color of a nice rich horse saddle. Tyler has a picture of the interior of his car somewhere around here. His is a great color combo, my fav, actually.

Saffron (Palomino) leather (154?), when in its rich original color, is quite beautiful. My '91 had this and when new it was like a freshly made saddle. Smelled good too.

Finding one that has not lightened and gotten a bit of a pink cast from sun exposure, a completely different story.
