Brian I never did bother trying to get the ac going. I always stayed cool with all four windows down, RHCP over the radio and aviators on

Exactly how I felt when I sold it! The guys I sold it to were just dealers trying to make a quick buck... It didn't turn out to be as quick, or as much of a buck as they expected! I'm glad it ended up the hands of someone who enjoyed it!

Its a great car, and quite a rare combination here in the states. W116s are great cars, and euro ones are very special. No bloat to weight them down results is great handling. And of course, the interior is to die for.

Good luck!

Jaime, thanks for the plug. You certainly put a lot into this car and it has served me well for 3 years.

The guy that I hoped wouldn't buy it never came back. The guy that I would have loved to have sold it to never came back either.

Still for sale. Open to offers from a good home. Needs paint and some rust repair. Lots of extra parts available to go with it.

Looking for offers

I want this car to go to a good home. I am not enjoying it right now, someone should. Willing to let it go to the right buyer for a reasonable offer. I obviously don't know what the car is worth because I am clearly overshooting it. Let me know.

Hows the sale going Mike, anyone buy it yet?

By some strange twist of fate, I just bought another '77 280SE euro car from behind a house two miles from here. Needs lots and lots of TLC, but its solid. When I sold your 280SE I figured I'd never have a chance own another one. So here we go again....

Jaime, you could have had yours back It is still for sale. Asking $2000 or reasonable offer.

I would very much appreciate some details on the one you just bought. Mostly because I love stories about these cars and partly out of curiosty.

I hear you with wanting an enthusiast to buy the car, I'm in the same boat with my 280C, want it to go to someone with a garage and the intention of fixing it up more.

Again, best of luck with finding the right buyer.

I'd love it, but no ac is a dealbreaker here in Phoenix. And what do you do about emissions on a euro or don't they have that sort of test in your neck of the woods?

They dont have an emissions test past a certain age. In fact I just had it state safety inspected today and it was a matter of pulling in, headlights, high beams, indicators, brake lights, reverse lights, tires, brakes, wipers and horn. $10 and done.

And as a matter of full disclosure, please see my post in the tech questions section
