I just listed my 300SD on eBay:

Anyone on the forum can make me an offer. Will consider trading for a 190E 16V or let me know what you have.

Regards,

Alex

Alex,

First of all, that is a very nice car. I'm always glad to see that there are still nice w116's that aren't completely rusted out.

I have a 450SEL that has no cracks in it's pristine dashboard. Seeing that you have your car in Florida, what have you used to keep your dash that way? I am about to have my car shipped to TX from a garage and it will now have to be stored outside for a few months. The dash was replaced with a new one a couple years ago and I would die if I saw a crack (it's black).

Regards,

David

I saw that car on ebay the other night. Could you snap a couple more pictures of the rag top?

Thanks for the compliments. The top was purchased from www.streetbeatcustoms.com. The dash has maintained from the car being garaged and not driven much. I do think that since the rag top was installed it helps to vent out some of the heat in the cab of the car when it is outside.

Regards,

Alex

That's a good solution to a car made without a sunroof! I have passed up many W111s and W116s that were otherwise great cars because they didn't have sunroofs. I think that a ragtop roof conversion would be nice in a car that was not made with a sunroof. It seems like it would be an easy, bolt-in conversion as long as proper measurements and cuts are made.

Also, I'm a little curious as to where the engine gets its air supply as the Euro lights would be blocking off the air cleaner intake pipe. I had to disconnect the inlet pipe when I did my Euro light conversion so the engine could breathe, and am curious as to what others have done to get around this.
