'81 240D - For sale - price negotiable
 

I know I read the rules and I should have had 10 posts before I try make a for sale post, but I have been lurking here for a while and posting on benzworld....sorry! Anyways, I need to sell my car fast. Please don't delete this post.

I am selling my 1981 240d - as in diesel (but you guys know this already). I bought the car this spring and have been using it as my daily driver, with around many long distance trips included. The odometer broke at 223K miles, and the previous owner claimed it was only a few thousand miles above that. I would say there is maybe 250K miles on the car now.

Included: 2.4 liter - 4 cylinder diesel engine, 4-speed manual transmission, mp3/wma head unit that runs off of a flash drive

Working: Power windows, Power Sun roof, power steering, all lights and indicators, heater, fan, cigar lighter (see picture), power antenna (sometimes)

Not working: A/C - the compressor is seized but everything is attached minus the drive belt.

Since I bought the car I have put new tires all around (front tires are a few months newer), replaced the alternator, replaced the clutch and clutch slave cylinder, fuel lines, replaced the control arm link bushings (front end), also the car has fairly air filter, oil filter, fuel filters - basically it's in good running condition. I also have a set of sway bar links (rear end) that i haven't yet installed.

The car has a bit of rust on the passenger side fender and a little bit on the rear driver side fender. The interior is in excellent condition except for the carpet which are just scraps of home carpet (see picture).

I am leaving the country in less than a month and need to find a home for my sweet Helga. The car is located in Athens, Ohio, USA but I will deliver the car if its a reasonable distance within 4-6 hours of driving.

I am asking for $1,800 delivered but will go lower if the offer is reasonable. I will not part this car as it is still in great shape for a 30 year old hunk of metal.

Those pictures gave me a flashback of the 77 240D that I used to drive. It was a little more pinkish due to the paint fading but wow. I would make an offer but I am sure I would come in about $1000 less than your asking price.
