1970 Mercedes Benz 280SE 6 Cylinder

I have another project coming so it's time to move the 280SE. Originally a CA car so it doesn't have the usual Midwest rust issues in the floors and rockers. Pertronix ignition. I have been fiddling with this car for the past year, it runs, stops, and drives but will need TLC. Auto transmission shifts fine, Good radiator. Front and rear bumpers are in great shape, along with the front fenders, hubcaps, and headlight assemblies. Fairly new Sears Roadhandler tires. Heater levers replaced with good used unit, needs to be hooked up. New wires, cap, rotor. New water pump. No radio. Electrical needs to be sorted out for windows, horn, and other areas. Windshield has a ding. Occasionally floods when starting. Dash interior wood is missing, butt part of driver's seat needs to be replaced. Door sill vinyl also needs replacement and wood surrounding door windows needs replacement/refinishing. Mechanical fuel injection. Includes owner's manual, Mercedes repair manual on CD, and clear Illinois title. Will part out if enough interest but I think it is too solid for that. Some extra parts included. Located 30 miles south of Chicago. Will trade for pre 1967 VW Beetle or bus projects. email me at bugpartslou@yahoo.com for more info or questions, $1800.00 or best offer.

you'd be taking a chance, should be trailered. I drive it to get gas and in the neighborhood but haven't had it out on a long trip.
