Re-listed- 81 300SD rebuilt motor FLA; lower price
1981 300SD in Florida
This is relisted. the intended buyer could not get transport worked out (More expensive and difficult than originally thought) Car is a contrast of good and bad. Engine rebuilt less than 50K ago (1999) all OEM (3.2L now) everything new with only the block and the crank from the original. Trany rebuilt not just overhauled. Shifts much nicer than factory rebuilt version Rear end replaced with rebuilt one and half shaft (drive side) replaced. Ball joints replaced Drive shaft complete rebuild Radiator replaced with all brass (better than OEM IMO, the only mechanical part not OEM) 15 inch alloys (from a 88 420SE) Car drives straight and is noticeable quicker than original motor Oil changed 10 miles ago, new filters oil and gas. This has been my gun range car (kept all my stuff in it so I would not forget things) and has been driven around 2K-2500 miles a year since 2000. (I now drive my pickup to the range and bought a 2004 E320) Odometer stopped in 2000 so you must trust a guy selling a used car about how much he drove it. People never exaggerate about these things LOL (No engine blow by at all so maybe its true) The bad: AC has leak in expansion valve and I stopped charging it years ago. It has been converted to the newer Freon. Heat does works fine Paint is speckled on roof and hood. Driver’s seat has a couple tears (other seats are all fine) Sunroof leaks down the pillars and messed up the wood on the dash at both ends. Vacuum lock system works but I disconnected the trunk because it had a problem that stopped the whole thing from working Rear left window does not operate (It is in closed position). Right front window came off track (I just propped it up, could not see how to fix it) Becker replaced but the cassette in the newer unit does not work; radio works fine, speakers all OK. I have owned this car since 1993 and would not hesitate to drive it across country. It is fast for a diesel and drives very nice but then a W126 will drive nice if it is in decent shape. I am asking $2,000.00 for the motor which is a $6,000.00 rebuild. Cash offers considered for the entire car or you can have someone pull the motor and ship it (I can’t do that). Car must be picked up in east central Florida NEW PRICE!!! $2,000.00 for the entire car Call Bob at 321-733-7783 or email me: photobobruff@netzero.net

When I said $2k for the whole car that did not mean you couldn't offer more so please feel free to ask $2500.00 or even $3,000.00 I won't be offended

Car was sold for the $2K asking price on 4-10-2011.
That car was one of the longest relationships in my life outside of blood relationships (parents, siblings and children) 18 years and 2 weeks longer than any other car (10 years for my 911SC) and even longer than owning a home of 16 years. My marriage lasted 15 years but the SD gave me better mileage than my X-wife L
