2004 VW Passat W8 4Motion

Going to put the car on ebay next week. I would let it go a little cheaper to someone here.

Very nice car. 8cyl. All wheel drive with 6sp manual trans. This car will eat Mustangs all day in comfort and style. Very nice car. 17mpg around town. 22 highway.

Runs and looks fantastic.

Yes. I read the production numbers somewhere. Less than 5,000 made for the 3 year run. Less than 500 of those were 6spd manual. Less than 15 with black on black color combonation.

Either way, it is a really great car to drive.

They are electronically limited to 130mph. However, there are several companies that make tuner chips. One in paricular in Germany has a chip to eliminate top speed governor. The car is capable of 170Mph.

A wonderful car for the blue book price. My ex just sold hers (it was an automatic) and was about $6000 under water, having bought it at blue book two years ago.

It has as much luxury as you could reasonably want, flat out hauls ass, and seems quite durable. Don't even think about working on it yourself. You would have to be an automotive genius in a Munchkin body to do anything.

God help you if you damage a head, block, crank or cam shaft. I imagine the rarity and consequential expense of maintenance items such as timing belts, ignition parts and engine mounts leads to the low blue book price.

Wish I knew she was selling, I would have taken the risk at $12,000. With 90,000 miles it looked and drove like a new car.

It is not as bad as you think. You have to remove the intake manifold to get to the coil packs. Other than that it is not bad. The W8 has timing chains and coil packs are around $150 which have been replaced under recall. I have never heard of engine mount troubles on a Passat.
