F/S 1986 MB 300SDL, $1500
Moving sale, 1986 300SDL in need of a transmission.
The Good: Dry, solid 300SDL, no rust that I have found, was running and would only shift through second gear when parked. 290,000 miles, tires and battery were new when I bought it in 2008. I drove the MB from Aspen Colorado when I picked it up from the owner. It's been at my shop ever since. The Bad: NEEDS transmission rebuilt, valve body is not installed, needs paint, interior in fair condition. Not a well sorted car at this time, I have nothing to hide. I knew the 300SDL had a transmission problem when I bought it. A/C wasn't cold the only time I tried it, wood trim in poor condition. My plans were to use this as my commuting vehicle but moving out of state will not allow the time needed. I'd like to get $2000 for it, is this a realistic price I don't know. I haven't tried to start it with the valve body removed, didn't seem like a good idea. I know there are a lot of unknows for a buyer, it can stay in my heated shop if I don't find a buyer. I can lift it and take pictures of the under side if needed. Thanks All. http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee137/3CL1/300SDL/ Last edited by 930dreamer; 05-29-2011 at 12:02 PM. Reason: more pics |

2,000 is kinda high for a project. AC work if it needs an overhaul is 800 bucks 1200 ish for the trans and if the interior cosmetics are important add another 2-900 for replacing the innards...
