FS 1993 300SD W140

Car has 155k on it in fair condition. Clear title, runs great (so far eh) and drives like a w140 dream. It needs some minor repairs:

Needs fuel filters but I will probably change those sometime this week
Needs brake pads
Has an oil leak
Has a rattley serp belt tensioner
Ac is non op of course but it probably just leaked out.

The car is my girlfriends car. We really need money and want to buy her a super cheap w123. Anyone interested? Tyler?

With shipping right now it would cost $1000 to get here. There's a gorgeous one with just shy of 100k sitting on dealer wholesale right now for $4000. Everything works supposedly.

A car can be in fair condition and have $20,000 worth of things wrong with it. If car car in perfect condition is worth $6000, and it will take double/triple that to bring a fair example to that level, how does KBB come to that number? Fair condition value is a joke to be honest. KBB is a total joke for cars much more than a decade old.

I'm not saying there's $20k of stuff wrong with your car, nor that your price is out of line, but this is a really half hearted ad. No condition description other than being fair, somewhat vague on mechanics, no pictures. We don't even know what color it is, nor the history. I'm assuming original motor, evaporator, and wiring harness?

I think a value of 3500 to 4000 is perfectly acceptable for a fair condition w140 SD. Its not a ancient w123. Its a 90s german luxury car loaded with electrical and vacuum devices, i think only one of the stupid option things doesn't work, oh yeah, its the right side parking stick that pops out-it doesn't. The paints not dull or pealing, it just needs a good polish and wax. The car seems to run great and it starts on the first crank. It has an oil leak- a small puddle forms underneath it when parked. It needs the brakes reloaded. How is that vague?

If you want to know more you pm me for more information and pictures like one person already has.

anthracite black on gray interior. Some scratches on the bumper. Suspension looks decent underneath, not immaculate but nothing you have to get fixed (as in maybe a balljoint that you can ignore).

Btw tyler, I dont really think its fair of you to come into my classified thread and call the car im selling an overpriced POS. It doesn't help me and its BS.

Lets look at the worst case scenario for this vehicle:

50K down the road this proves to be a road bender.
$500 603 engine and its back on the road again.
Transmission? 400 transmission and its back on the road. Not everyone has a mechanic who charges 2k a motor swap, half the people here would do these things themselves.

Wiring harness? This car does not have a single electrical gremlin.

I don't think you read the last paragraph there, specifically the first sentence. Nowhere did I call your car overpriced, or a POS. Go back and read; I was speaking in general about KBB. Sorry for the confusion, but you're way over reacting.

My only criticism is to add pictures and be more descriptive, then asked about common foibles with these cars. Everybody who knows these cars is going to ask if the big 3 has been taken care of so you might as well address them in the ad. I've never touched a 140 and don't have the slightest idea where one of these would be priced at. Sounds like a decent deal. No ball busting here.
