'87 300TD Diesel wagon & '94 E320 wagon project
I have two silver wagons that would make a great project for someone.
An '87 diesel wagon silver over blue tex & a '94 E320 silver over black tex. The diesel wagon has rusty doors & some around the jack points. The E320 wagon has no engine or trans. The E320 wagon has like new brakes. 200k on the diesel, 160k on the E320. The diesel runs & drives fine. $2500 the pair of them? I'd love to do it but I just have no time. Transfer everything from the gasser to the diesel... or put that diesel engine in the gasser. Wish you were closer and I had money...

Transfer everything from the gasser to the diesel, better to have an '87 registration, no emissions, cheaper insurance etc etc

true but it sounds like the gasser is rust free... but they are the same color so you could swap doors. If your gasser has leather then it would be the perfect project. So that would be: hood, headlights, interior, body cladding, maybe convenience module, steering wheel... from the gasser to the diesel.
All in a days work right

Shoot, it would be easier just to "transfer" the 87 VIN and engine to the 94
