I have the male version of one of those... he really wants a cab now. It all started when I told him we would have to lease a new MB if he ever got into selling real estate.

My '93 in Signal Red hasn't attracted a single inquiry:

The evap needs doing but the harness, radiator and all the hydraulics have been replaced.

Ha, I have a male version of one of those also; Although I suspect he'd say the same about me.

The market is pretty bad right now, and have you priced out the evap job?
I've done two, and it's not insignificant....

Now is a great time to pick up one of these future classics, I bought one in September last year. But it's a lousy time if you're a seller...

Those cars were $82,000? I think my dads 2003 CLK430 was $62,000. Jeez.

Any 1993 car at $9,000 will be aimed at a fairly thin market segment.

Count yourself lucky. If it was a $1,500 300e you would be attracting all manner of flotsam and jetsam and other strange creatures. BTDT no thanks.

Total serious face, I respect you for saying you think its the feared, prohibitively expensive evap, most CL people would go with the classic "probably just needs recharged"

Vacationing in Charleston SC right now, may just stop by Atlanta on the way home to Cincy to check it out if they are willing to come back to earth on the price...
Seconded. Low-mid 20s tops, but remember, that's still 25% residual value over 16 years!

Prod date 11/95 - does that make it a 96?

That's a lot of money for an old car...

For the same $$ you could buy a 2005 (10 years newer) SL500 (SL vs. E class anyone?)

I'm sure this is a nice car, but I'd *much* rather be driving an 03+ R230 SL500 for the same money. Much newer features, better safety, vario roof (with a real glass back window, etc.)

Yes, it's more complex but this E class is based on MB's mid-range line of W124 sedans. The R230 is a world class roadster.

I know they are two completely different cars, but consider the value of an SL Roadster for the same price!

A friend is going to make a cash offer for this car this weekend. It's nowhere near what they have it listed for on eBay but I feel like the offer he will make is a decent one that will probably get the manager engaged.
