1972 280 SE 4.5 W108
My 1972 280se 4.5 is parked at Mr. MB Motors. There was an engine fire last week, and besides the engine compartment everything else is salvagable.
Anyone nearby and seriously interested could you please check it out. I want to make sure its parts go to an enthusiast. I'm asking $1500. Please PM me. |

Aww man, I'm sorry for your loss. Any idea what went wrong (aside from heat/ spark + flammable material)?

Enrique at Mr. MB saw it, and he said it was the top of the fuel line connected to the engine. It broke, and I guess it sprayed all over the engine compartment.
The sad part about it was I was about to go in and have him take a peek. I also had this idea to go buy a fire extinguisher. I guess the car was whispering to me, and I didn't listen. Warning to all enthusiasts! Check your fuel lines. |
