For Trade: 88 560SL

Here is the deal.....

I have/own the 1988 MB 560SL shown in the photograph and want to trade it for a US 1950-70's vintage "resto-mod". Numerous detailed photographs are available along with all service records, reciepts and other documents. This car is located in/near Houston Texas.

Here is history:
Car sold new in Arizona
Car purchased by current owner (me) in May 2011.
Car has 140k miles
Car is in next to perfect condition as follows:
1) Body is clean/clear and has never been wrecked or damaged otherwise - no rust dents, major scratches, etc. All body panels are perfect, fit is correct - all original paint and chrome. Includes both tops (also has garage hardtop lift rack/winch as well as storage cart and OE canvas covers).

2) Mechical

Since I purchased the car in May 2011 (3rd owner) I have had extensive work done to restore it to top tier mechanical and driving condition. Over 12,000. worth or parts and labor invested since May 2011 ($7000 in parts and $5000 in labor) using only 100% new geunine and authentic MB replacement parts and with all labor performed by licensed MB / Bosch repair center that specializes in vintage MBs particularly these SLs).

3) Interior. all original....but in 7/10 condition. Instrument cluster rebuilt by United Speedometer to repair tach and repaint guage needles, and replace lamps). Palamino leather seats in really good condition...armrest has some wear. Burlwood panels in tact, some minor fading normal due to sunlight. All carpets, dash and door panels in good condition. All chrome trim in good condition.
4) Exterior as mentioned, all original...orig paint (in perfect condition, deep shine, has been professionally restored. All Chrome and glass original in perfect condition. All rubber in tact, looks good as new. Some weatherstriping replaced (as needed).

I would consider my car to be at a 80% restoration level...only planned work remaining to be done was to re-do interior (but as a driver, it looks great now)

I intended to restore the car to show condition but have now changed my mind and want a vintage US car...

If your interested in owning a 560SL, this is a very good example of one in top condition.

I would easily drive this car from east coast to west coast today with no hesitation. It runs and drives like its 2 years old,,,not 23
