it isn't just in Ca
i had an '87 that i couldn't get a grand for 4 years ago w/ 190k and virtually NO issues!! still sitting in my yard slowly being parted.....

Unfortunately, they're worthless. My 91 560SEL was a great runner until the flex disc failed. Probably caused about $300 in parts to put it right but not worth it so I parted it instead
