The higher performance figures for the 500 did not start until 1987. The strongest 5.0 was rated at 195 kW's... not 200. |

Wow
Was just thinking about this.
Thought I checked that. Does the knob have to be in pulled out mode? Do the headlioghts or fog lights move? I sort of tightened up my foglights as screws were out so it might not move. Cool have to try it. Thanks

I prefer the 500 SEC over the 560
Seems that its power is more available in the lower speeds which is better for the roads & traffic we most encounter. JMO

CS,
It is just the inner headlights that move up and down with the vacuum roller pictured. You mentioned Gen II US SEC headlights. If you have them installed, then the Vacuum function will not work. It only works on Euro Headlights with the vacuum lines running to them.

GTS 5.8 Camshaft
Need help from the experts and euro 500 owners: Camshaft No. "GTS 5.8" stamped in my 500SEL Euro hot rod. What do I have? Would this be the reason why this Euro 500SEL runs harder than my old Euro 6.9 AMG?
