1979 MERCEDES 6.9 FOR SALE





I'm in the other side of the planet so I though of just sharing this in the hope someone would find the interest (and heart) to give this nice classic a nice home to stay. Quoting a post by another forumer from another board

It's apparently in a junk yard, whoever put it there should be executed. It's in beautiful condition other than looks like an idiot lowered it. Guess they're currently asking $3000 but you know junk yards, they ask a certain price and then eventually they'll get tired of it and crush it for their $300 in metal... Someone please save it!

Yikes! looks like a solid car too.

It's not lowered, they have hydro suspension that is not working. I called them a couple of month ago, they are firm on the price and they don't have a key so you can't hear it run.

It looks better in the picture then in real life. If it was $1000, I'd take a gamble, but for $3000, it's not worth it.

No key!? I wonder how they would be able to sell it? Firm at 3k? Yeah, it if it needed just a little TLC or at the least didn't require heavy work....

Just curious, how bad is it as to "how nice" it is projected in the photo?

who knows if its working or not since it can't be started! they came w/ rubber blocks to hold them up when not in use, so it may be functional, but it might also cost 5 grand t0 fix it if not. as alabassi said, for a grand you might take a shot......

The body looks well-kept, the interior not so much. Maybe a little fiddling here and there.

Yep, it would be if it was a $1k car but i've seen it and it's not a $3k car. Far from it.
