I'm considering selling my 1985 500SE. I bought this car in 2004 and transported it from NY to Michigan. It has been the best car I've ever owned. The trouble is,...it sits waaaaaaaaay to much. It should be driven. I exercise it about 100 miles a year (perhaps the last 5-years), but made it my daily driver during the early years of ownership.
The mechanicals are very good. This car can be driven anywhere. There are a few major problems: AC clutch siezed, hood is not original (yup, forgot to latch after service), tear in drivers seat (1/2", see photo), PO attempted a paint job,...poor quality and color match. 161K miles. I'll include a few photos and answer emails on the subject.
