Yea, I also like how people us the term "rare", in this case "very rare"... Although not a common W124 you see everyday I would hardly put it in a rare category much less very rare.

Maybe an Alfa Romeo 164 Q4 or even a VW Corrado G60 or VR6 would be closer to that title.


But I think a low mileage 190e 2.3 or 2.5 Cosworth (with "dog leg" manual) would be a more likely candidate.

Production numbers are actually quite low. Fewer than 2000 in that year. Rare is pretty accurate. Valuable on the other hand, not so much.

In the case of the Alfa Romeo 164 Q4 (Quadrifoglio or AWD) only 100 total were imported for a two year period. That is what I'd consider closer to the "rare" classification.



I had owned the LS version (FWD)

It is a great sedan with a very good engine
even came stock with a touch screen controlled stereo (in '94)

I'm just not a big fan of FWD and torque steer
and changing a starter in one is a PITA.
