Selling my beloved Benz because I got back into a Ford. 40 miles each way to work every day is not good on the wallet in this car as you could imagine. It's a great car but it's time to let her go. 3,300 OBO

Where did you get those inserts for the trunk? That looks really useful! |

Yep over $100 in gas a month for me was a little more than I could afford. Thanks again for those seat covers, the original sun-dried ones turned an otherwise beautiful car's interior into an eye sore. I didn't quite get as much as I was hoping for, but I liked the buyer as he has a '59 220 at home and I knew the car is going to be well taken care of. Better than the guy who wanted to take the 6.9 out of his beat up 450 and plop it in this one, or the kid who called me saying this would be his first car (makes me shudder just thinking about it).
As far as the inserts go, I made them one afternoon. Would have liked to pick a darker carpet for them, but I happened to see a roll of that grey in the middle of wally world one day. Here they are during testing... And here is the car I replaced it with... Much better MPGs for my daily commute and my previous Crown Victoria saved my (and my friends') butts in an accident last November in which it was totaled. When I have extra money saved up I will most definitely be looking into another vintage Benz as the 73 was a great experience for me. |
