Need to sell off MBZ fleet

Basically a repost but I want to let folks know that I will entertain reasonable offers. FWIW, I'm driving a CR-V these days and like the novel concept of an a/c that will freeze your a** out of the car in Texas on a 105F day.

--------------------------------

I'm not trying to hide anything but, remember these cars have been stored for several years and there may be more issues than what I have listed here.

1984 300D - running, fair cosmetic shape, small dent in RF fender, needs tires, front end work and paint. 340k miles, timing chain replaced at about 315K. R12 a/c system has some issues but it's still good..a/c cools, sorta...it's always had a little leak and every couple of years need to shoot in some gas. I changed out the 3.07 differential to a 2.88 some years ago for lower rpm on the highway. Has the right speedo for the 2.88 diff as well. Registered and inspected, ready for your TLC. Basically a box-stock 300D. $1500

1983 300TD - running, fair shape, needs tires, front end work, paint (clear coat gone) and some interior repair. Converted to 5-speed manual several years ago. R134a a/c system that leaks like a sieve. Not registered or inspected currently and battery is shot, but it does run, we can stick a battery in and fire it up. Front seats fully rebuilt several years ago with new leather, pads and springs. Leather on driver's side is worn now but the seats are really nice. $2500 OBO

1987 300SDL - I was using this one as a daily driver until I bashed the oil pan on a rock in my driveway last month. Engine survived because I check my gauges frequently...this car has had a salvage title since about 1990 and looks like crap but has good tires, <10000 mi on fully rebuilt front end, a rebuilt turbocharger, plus new a/c compressor, evaporator, condenser and txv but I never could get the a/c going right. Also has a nice stereo, not a Becker but OK for a cheap car. Will need some TLC to get back on the road but is a fun car that gets 25mpg. $1000 OBO

1985 240D Euro - not a runner...rough appearance, some rust, head gasket leaks, some parts have been robbed from it. 4-speed manual but needs a drive shaft. Best offer

198x 240D Euro - 4-speed manual, engine sounds good but I've never driven it...bought this one to replace the above's engine. Best offer

1985 300TD - parts car only, bad rust, parts missing, engine ran but apparently had jumped time. Good news is that the rear swing arm bushings probably have <20k miles on them. Best offer

1975 240D - 4-speed manual, manual windows, not running, probably a broken camshaft. $800 OBO

1974 or '75 240D - bad rust, not running but supposedly has a running engine. Bought this for the engine and was going to put it in the above car. This car is at another location and I haven't seen it for a few years..I guess it is still there. Best offer

I have a few other parts cars at the same place but I cannot remember what they are...probably just crusher fodder now. IIRC this is the good stuff.

There's new and used parts, filters, rubber do-dads, motor mounts, full set of new palamino carpet for 123 300TD...never installed, used manual transmission for 616-617 (needs work), various used SLS components, bundt wheels, yada yada and a Klann knock-off spring compressor.

Some nibbles. One bite on the running TD.

I think most on here are wannabe MBZ wrenches because, for the life of me, I cannot understand why I can't move these units. The 115 for example: $800 for a good 115 plus a complete parts car with a running engine. The 126 great beater car with some TLC or for parts...well worth $800-1000 just in parts.

It's an '83.

Tom, I'm tickled that you're buying that wagon. You'll enjoy it, I sure have.

I love that car and really wanted to do a resto on it to return it to the condition she was in (more or less) when I bought her. In fact, when you said you were sending a check, I was having some serious second thoughts about selling. But honestly, I have more than enough to keep me busy out here on the farm without having to deal with a 30 year old car.

83 is my favorite year.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if I am saying the same thing in a few years!
