I just picked up a burgundy on tan 1987 300D. As I have three other MB diesels, I need this car like I need a hole in the head. But I picked it up cheap for the purpose of developing my wrenching skills and hopefully selling it for a bit of a profit. And I've always wanted to own one of these.

So, I'm going to start chipping away at things. I'll fix what I can fix, leave alone what I can't, then sell it. In the meantime, if you have an interest feel free to email me.

Odo is broken, but PO estimates it has about 185,000 miles on it. Paint is faded (especially on roof); some rust at jack points, but otherwise rust free; AC doesn't work; cruise doesn't work; left rear window doesn't work. At full throttle, there's some black smoke....turbo doesn't seem to kick in. And I need to shut off with lever at shutoff valve.

BUT, it drives just fine. Everything feels tight and solid. PO seemed to stay on top of things that needed done....replaced water pump, ball joints, and radiator over last couple of years.

So it's a good car for someone....I don't plan to own it for long. Eventually I'll put it up here and on Craigslist.
