A picture always helps, if you can post one here. Your price is not unreasonable, it should sell once people can see what they are buying.

If you were closer I'd be considerably interested myself.

Peter from IN was looking at a 240 D a few days ago. You might want to send him a private message. I think his ID is psfred.

I E-Mailed a link to this thread to a friend at work who has been considering a 240D or 300D. Could that be the original 1980 paint job or is it a repaint? It would be unusual for the original paint to look that good. On the other hand the body panels are really nice and straight.

Miles? Does it use any oil? Any problems starting it in the cold? Any problems (windows, A/C, etc..)?

The car uses some oil, a quart every 1,200 miles or so. The car has always started with no problem, not matter how cold. The glow plug light does not illuminate. The power locks do not work.

The car is completely manual, so everything works. The A/C does not blow cold, but the compressor is not frozen. The odometer has right at 100,000 miles. According to previous owner this is correct, however there is no documentation. I have my doubts on the mileage.

The car spent its life in Southern California. The original owner must have worked for the Department of Defense, as there where 12 plus years of parking stickers from the Dept. of Defense on the bumper.

Nice Car

Darrin,

From the looks of it, you either live in Broad Ripple or on the Northeast side of town.

I live in NJ now but used to live in Indy, Broad Ripple and then in Carmel. I miss it, as well as the sprint car racing that is native to the area.

How is the Circle City

Close! I live east, in a neighborhood called Irvington, near Pleasant Run Golf Course (10th and Arlington area).

I used to live in Broad Ripple, too. Glad to hear you have fond memories of Indy.

Oddly, the company I work for here in Indy is headquartered in your state of New Jersey.

My buddies are telling me that I have priced it too low, too. It kind of bothers me, but on the other side of the coin I don't want to spend weeks trying to sell it. I've decided it's time for me to move on to another project.

If it someone can actually benefit form the car, that would be great.
