Tyler, check out this '91 300E
Posh Auto Corp. | 1990 Mercedes-Benz 300E
It's about as optioned as a '91 300E can be. And at a fair price if it's in shape. Sixto 87 300D |

This is a stunning 300E 4matic, if only I had the funds for it now!
It may have been privately imported, due to the Euro headlights with the correct wipers & leveling, warning triangle in the trunk ect. And special ordered at that; having heated seats, rear shade, driver & passenger orthopedic seats installed! Weather it's actually a US car or converted Euro car, an excellent job was done either way. You really can't tell! EDIT: Just checked the VIN & it is a US car ordered through the European delivery program (code: 820 version for tourists)! The owner was smart to pick up some cool factory accessories for their new car while they were over there! Last edited by MB_FanAddict; 09-03-2012 at 01:44 PM. Reason: See post |

I dig it. 124s are really slow movers right now.

I like the trunk liner. I wish I could score a trunk in the same color as my car with the liner and mount my triangle. I needs a clip!

Love the color, never seen a 300E like this. Aren't the earlier 4matics problematic?

You can add the trunk liner from a wrecking yard car to an early 124. Jeremy can tell you what little bits are needed.

Sixto,
I recall that as well. Back when my kids were young, I was looking at early 90s 4Matic wagons, until someone tipped me off that they were problematic & big $$ fixes. Just wondering.... |

So instead you bought a rod bender.

Sixto...
Zackly. Except I was looking at 4matics back in the late 90s, so the price was a premium (then), like $15-20K.
Since the compression/leak down was good on this rod bender, I deemed the risk to be less (but I could definitely be eating those words). Do you know if the rebuilds on those early 4matics had corrected the "issues"? I recall driving one that had the clunk on deceleration, which I thought was the tell tale of a problem unit. Just curious. Thanks again for your help. Pete |
