wtb, looking for 83-85 300sd
Well I sold Ursala because I was driving 400-500 miles a week and I didnt like doing that to such a nice car. Bought an 06 manual civic to replace it, and now I no longer have that commute so I would like to leave the Honda world. Not a bad car(35-38mpg), just not me at all...
Anyways, Im looking for an 83-85 300sd that I can get in and drive. Not a parts car pulled out of the field and cleaned up. I basically only drive on the weekends now and its usually 100-200mi trips. Things that would be nice to have: -well functioning climate control(even if air isnt perfect, Id still like the compressor to do something) -Mechanically ready to go. Like ready for a 500mi rd. trip, I can handle small repairs right now, but am not looking for tranny replacements and what not. -some maintenance records if possible. -Basically looking for a DD. -Recent valve adjustment -Non leaking turbo oil drain -RUST I dont like structural rust issues... Looking to be in the $1000-$2500 range. The 2006, 4door, 5speed manual civic is for sale, and could possibly be worked into a trade deal obviously with cash on top... have pics if anyone is interested in it. Im in Oxford ohio (north of Cincinnati) and dont really want to go much more than 200 miles... so Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Pennsylvania... maybe further for some kind of killer deal.

Here is the my consideration, what do you all think? If all goes as planned im making the 4.5hr rd. trip this weekend to see it(38mpg civic does have its advantages).
1985 Mercedes 300sd turbodiesel, 185000 miles, will go up daily, automatic transmission, runs good, good on fuel, it could use front tires and ac works but could use a charge, some spots the clear coat is peeling off. Asking $2800 I have about $2600 in receipts for the last two years.

Nice find! The leather is in good shape too.
I think '85 was the best year of the 300SD due to the additional standard content offered by then on the 126 for the US market. ABS, power headrests, memory seat, outside temp ind. & also it's a hair faster then the earlier models IIRC too. Hope it works out for you! |

I have a 1982 300sd. I have put 2nd gen seats in (soooo comfortable), great climate control (no a/c leaks and new compressor not rebuilt), valves adjusted about 800 miles ago, Euro headlights, large condensor fan, outside temp display and more goodies . Runs and drives GREAT but needs a paint job. I would like to get $3000 or best offer.

Oh and the "economy" gauge works as a boost gauge! I would really like this car to have a caring owner so i don't want to put it on craigslist or ebay unless i have to.
