FS: '87 TD Wagon- Project car

FS:

1987 TD Wagon. Owned it numerous years. Driven very little due to an overheating issue it had when I bought it. Too many forks in the fire and I've seem to have lost steam on the project.

Here's a quick summary of the car:

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/mercedes-cars-sale/279268-fs-87-w124-td-wagon.html

What's been done since.

- Pulled the head. Machine shop determine it was cracked and so was my spare! Bum luck. Anyhow, the cylinder bores look great. Engine fogged and bagged. I've been (passively) looking for a known condition replacement. Almost pulled the trigger on a #17 last year but snoozed and someone else didn't.

- So I have two complete parts cylinder heads. So either purchase a "ready to run" unit or a bare casting and assemble your own.

- I picked up a mint blue dash pad as the one in this car has several cracks.

I've done a few other things but I can't think of them right now.

Looking for $1K AS IS where is.

I also picked up a '92 gasser wagon in the same colour scheme inside/out. It's southern, or was. Still pretty clean. Sitting on mid '90's factory 15" alloys with decent winters. PO told me it ran but I never tested. IIRC he said he pulled the car from the road because the trans failed. I wasn't concerned with the drivetrain. Consider that portion of the car free. The PO pulled some parts ie: headlights, taillights and dash pad but it's mostly there otherwise. Perfect parts car. Very nice body panels in OEM paint. Has factory roof rack bars too. I'm sure there's more.

$600

Great project for the right person. There will be plenty left over to help recoup costs.

$1500 for the pair.

Cars are located near Sarnia, ON Canada or about 15 minutes from Port Huron MI 48060

I still have the US reg on both as I imported them myself.

These pics were taken in the fall of 2010. The car doesn't look much different aside from the top end disassembly on the engine.

Edit:

Left inner high beam lens broken. Clearly seen in the photo.

Rear hatch dent. I modded that myself. Did a brake job on another vehicle and forgot I had squeezed the calipers to fit the new pads. Fortunately, the parts car has a perfect rear hatch in the same colour.

Is that a P on the trunk lid? It looks like it's from New Jersey originally. P meaning Princeton Motorsport.

This car keeps getting "bumped" down the project list. I'd love to pass the torch off on this car rather than part it out however that said I am now taking names and parts requests and will consider parting it out.

Please send PMs with parts requests and offers.

Thank you.

I *almost* sold this car twice last year but both buyers backed out last minute. I really honestly hate to part the car but will. So please send parts requests.
