75 230 W115 in western WA
75 W115 230, automatic. Runs without any odd noises or smoke, shifts well but has carb issues. I have told the owner it needs the carb rebuilt, but he doesn't have the money right now.
The body is decent but it needs paint. There is no rot or even surface rust that I have seen. It is an off-white color but some scratches were touched up with white and there is what looks like blue overspray in some areas. There is a very nice cloth top on it, no soft spots or rust stains under it or along the seams. Interior is decent but dirty, all manual. Has a/c but needs a charge. The car needs a master cylinder to be driveable. Overall it's a very nice car and an easy restore or even buff and touch up for a nice driver. I am not in a position to get this car, but he needs it sold. $2500 picked up in Port Orchard, WA. PM me with a phone number and I'll have the owner call you. Pictures can be taken on request, I'll try to get some overall pics on Monday or Saturday. |

I got some pics today:
Car is very straight, and the carb kit has been ordered so it'll be running properly next weekend as well. The hood ornament is intact in the trunk, it was removed so the cover that was on it years back didn't damage it. It does still need the brake master cylinder replaced, but this car is well worth $2500. |

$2500 for a nice straight 230? Is it priced too high?

Carb has been rebuilt, it runs decent now, all the diaphragms in the carb were torn. I still need to do some tuning, it seems to have a vacuum leak but will start and run without too much drama, choke works properly now too.
I did a more thorough exam on it today, and found some rust on the passenger side floorboard. The jack points are decent, but not perfect. Other than that one floor area, the underside looks quite nice. The interior is a solid 8 to low 9, once it's cleaned. There is a small spot on the driver's seat, other than that the interior is mint. The rear seat looks basically unused. Once spring rolls around, the price will go up, especially if I keep working on it. As it is, it's a very easy restore project that would be great for a "first-timer", or even someone looking to make a quick buck. A very small amount of bodywork, paint, and a little tinkering will get you a great laid back classic car or you can double your money. NADA guides price it as follows: Low: $3175 Average: $5425 High: $7800 I know their prices are a bit high, but getting $6500 out of this car with nice paint is realistic. $2500 picked up in Port Orchard, Washington or delivery can be arranged within the northwest for a minimal charge. |
