I have decided to sell my 1976 Mercedes 240d. I am asking $600. This is the w115 body style with om616 engine and automatic transmission. Power windows and manual sunroof. I purchased the car a few years back with the intention of fixing it up and using it as a daily driver. I have acquired a w123 240d and am using it as my daily driver at the moment.

Car has been stored outside under trees and in the elements. Exterior is dirty and there is considerable rust in the drivers floorboard and left rear quarter panel. I took a welding class and had planned to cut out all of the rust and weld in new metal but no longer have any desire to do so. The w115's were susceptible to rust.
Car runs and drives however the inspection and registration are expired. I have a clear and clean title in hand and in my name and will sign it over to purchaser.

The actual mileage is unknown due to the odometer only having 5 places. I do not know how many 100s of thousands of miles are on the engine. The engine smokes quite a bit when cold. I have adjusted valves, replaced injectors, and replaced the valve seals. Could be bad rings or another issue such as the injection pump diaphragm. Transmission shifts good despite numerous vacuum leaks. Steering pump is leaking and vacuum pump will probably need a rebuild kit.
Interior is not stellar but everything is there. Rear seats are bad and front seats have seat covers on them. A/C was working intermittently. Heater not working if I remember correctly.

This car will need work or is best suited for parts. If car has not sold in 2 weeks I will begin parting it out and scrapping the rest. If you are need of parts please keep this in mind. I have received some interest in the car through craigslist, but nobody has actually made it out to look at it. More than likely I will begin the partout a week earlier than stated.
