You are correct. My apologies to everyone on this thread for my poor attitude, for nit-picking others' posts, and for being an all-round jerk.

Cheers,
Gerry

Please Behr with me while I think about this...

GVZ - With everything you do for us here in the MBZ community, no apologies are ever necessary.

Thanks!

I'll take down my post, it clearly didn't read the way I meant it. I sent Jim a PM to explain to him what I meant, he may still decide I'm a bad person but that's up to him.

Don't worry, I'll stay off your site.

I'll work on my grammar before I create an account.

Hey guys, this is (just) a chat forum; a place to put forth opinions.

Yes, of course, it will sell at whatever number someone wants to put down for it. Power to whomever can get close to 30 grand for it today !

To me, it's kinda hard to believe this car is worth more than Henry's 1 owner 94' with 27K miles on it; he was (only) able to get 27.5 grand out of it 2 years ago....and he was asking 35 grand.

Congrats on the sale! Can you reveal (approximately) what it sold for?

Sure seems like a lot of money. I was looking at a nice daily driver quality '92 500E in, oh, about 2003 or 2004. About 50K miles, 2 owners, full records, Texas car. About $22K as I recall. I didn't like the color combo (smoke silver over black) so waffled a bit and it sold out from under me. It's hard to imagine a production 4 door saloon car appreciating, even one as interesting as the 124.036.

Openly arguing with other members (as has started here) about any car's pricing, to me, isn't the right place to do it.
I believe that replying to for-sale threads is technically banned because of this issue.
