Cheap 1987 190D I took on trade.
Forum member 83240D (David) did the motor swap. Went through it very thoroughly after the previous owner got shafted on a bad eBay deal. He claimed to have $6000 into it after a year of ownership. I'm waiting to here from David as to exactly what he did and will report back.
Jack points have some surface rust, as does the door jams. Missing some exterior trim pieces. Dash is cracked up, seats look fine but have some spring sag. Runs and drives fantastically. Really good pep. Shifts are a bit stiff... $999.99 REDUCED to a forum member. Put rock solid firm on my prices on CL to avoid the lowballers. Gave $1500 in trade. Not enough time to mess with this one. ***1987 Mercedes 190D Diesel Drives great 30+ MPG*** |
$999.99
Drive it anywhere. Make it go away. Replacement engine with 130k Brake work Suspension work Climate control work (no AC) Takes a long time to rack up $6000 in repairs at David's 45 an hour. Drives great. |

It's not like he just had a baby or anything!! Oh wait again......... |
Unfortunately my time is more limited and my performance is diminished. I simply did not have the time and energy to devote my usual diligence to this car which is needed for an out of town buyer. I regret listing it here.
Craigslist is just too easy, and the reason why I rarely list cars for sale here anymore. 3 photos, brief description, BAM! Sold locally within a week or two. Someone stopped by yesterday with $1500 cash. He needed a work commuter so he could finally start a supra engine swap on his Lexus. Sorry to lead you on, Strelink. Though I made no indication that you snagged it, I know you were looking forward to more information on the car and perhaps completing a deal based on that information. |

man that can be a bad situation. i had a verbal agreement (via PM's on another board....also, not implying that existed b/t you fellas) w/ a guy to buy his SPG and he sold it to a local buyer from a craigslist ad while i was waiting to go to pick it up. i was a little irritated but nothing i could do....i'm glad to see you guys are handling it like gentlemen!!
