Leaving the fold: 1999 W210 E300 Turbodiesel for sale: $6000

Hello folks,

After finishing a successful R&R of the delivery valve seals, my giflfriend says the car has got to go. She is tired of seeing me play weekend greasemonkey.

I will post photos and details soon, but I wanted it to be know that this car is for sale.

What's with the blue goop and the strange bolt on the lower shock mount?

The blue goop is lubricant for the poly bushings. The strange nut is the extra wide nut that comes with the KMAC adjustable poly bushing (camber/caster) kit.

***SOLD***

Good news. Though I am not remaining a MB owner, the lovely W210 that has served me so well over the past 6-1/2 years was picked up by a forum member.

dieseldiehard purchased 'Stewie' from me this evening. May 'Stewie' serve him well for many more years to come. I believe that dieseldiehard will enjoy the updated handling, comfort and amenities that the 1999 has to offer.

Talking Dieseldiehards new W210 E300D

Yesireee. all of the above is right on with the exception that my wife will be the primary driver of Stewie.
However I am already planning to driving it to Texas next month. A long trip in the Sportline 124 chassis would rattle my brains after 2100 miles of dodging pot holes, etc. (one trip on I10 I had to dodge a gas tank that fell of a flatbed full of wrecked car. I did a hail-Mary for the drivers behind me!)
Handling of the W210 is not on a par with my '87 with its Sportline suspension but its exactly what I wanted, a smooth riding car for my wife. I am replacing the '87 300D that she drives after it was destroyed recently in a side impact accident. Oh, that reminds me, I may part that car out in which case there will be lots of parts to sell on Peachparts! But first I may swap some parts onto my Blue bomb

Many thanks again to anghrist for making this car available, driving out to the forlorn place I am staying, and most important, the professional way the car has been cared for.

I hope my wife doesn't crash this one like her '87 300D but if she does then there are twice as many airbags to protect her.

Now I need to get Stewie out of the dusty desert before that new windshield gets sandblasted

So, how many miles are on the Stew-machine?

The '99 E300TDs are really neat cars. Mine has served me well for 14 years running - but then, who's counting......?

They're kind of small, depending.......but you get used to them like a second skin is what I've come to with mine. Very quick, manueverable, and excellent feedback from the car's controls at all speeds and situations. I hope I don't regret moving mine along to it's new owners, but have decided to ask them to just give it back to me, if they aren't pleased with it anytime soon, and are considering trading it, or selling it to strangers. I don't think a lot of people know what they have in an MB diesel, since they run out and get lesser and unsafer cars at the drop of a hat - or so it appears to me.

Run it hard if you like - these can take it I'm convinced. Mine certainly can.

It only had 232k and some change on clock.

I'm sure that they will. But, I just don't get in that much of a hurry anymore.

Yesterday was a mad mad, busy day. Left the house at 0600 and got back at 2040. We were up in Bakersfield, CA for the 17th Annual Kern Scottish Gathering & Games. Nothing like playing bagpipes in the bright sunshine and prevalent smell of livestock to wear a person out.

Can't rest though. Someone is coming today to see the '77 240D today. Thankfully, they are looking for a 'project' car.

THX......"232K'

If the sale price was the same as asking - @ "$6,000," IMO, you did good with those miles on it.
