1999 Mercedes E300D For Sale, needs some work

First off, I love this car, I had fully intended on keeping it forever, then I got the Fiance pregnant now we need a bigger ride.
I got this car two years ago and have done a ton of work on the car.
Filters, continental dsw tires, completely new front end, chamber adjusters on rear, injectors rebuilt, new water pump, radiator, glow plugs yes, the heart break. I broke number 6. It runs and drives fine, and with the block heater installed it starts easily on 5 plugs. But that, and a number of cosmetic imperfections make this car a project.
A running driving project that I wouldn't hesitate to drive anywhere. In December I put around 3k miles on it driving from Denver to Cincinnati, to Cleveland, and back.
I have $9k into the car, but I know it needs work and the glow plug
So I'm asking $5,000 OBO
Thanks
Samson

Are you by chance still commuting to Ohio?

Edit: I read that quickly and for some reason got the impression you did that more than once, for business or something like that.

Cooljjay you are right.......

....that car is big enough, but when the "nesting instinct" sets in with the wife, you better believe there's a minivan in your future. Great car.

What I'd actually like to hear about is how it performed on your drive to Ohio, you know mileage per gallon, how many cops stopped you to admire it, you know the important stuff.......

'99 E300D turbo still available?

Car is probably gone, some sellers drop outta sight after they sell, like Anghrist after I bought his 99 E300D. He had a lovely car, I happened to be near to his location when he listede it and my wife had wrecked her ;87 300D so I bought his for $6K. It came with a trunk full of parts, tools, fluids etc., a similar situation where his wife to be told him it was either him or the cars (he had a nice W123 240D also).
The glow plugs had been changed, at least there were 5 Beru boxes with old (still good) Bosch GP's in them in the trunk. I figure one GP was bad and he changed them all, unless one was stuck maybe? I will not know until I face the dreaded day when I have to replace GPs on it.

Other than that and the European Navigation package I like the '99. It gets super mileage and has tons of power and road noise is low so I can hear the nasty whine of the Michelin tires on it (I really need to get rid of them!)

On the nav pkg, I can't set the location for time to other than European cities, he had added that but I wasn't aware it was from a Euro car.
I really like the Bose sound system! MB finally got that right. The W124 radio sounds like a tinny box compared to the Bose.

Incidentally I just changed GP#6 on my 87 300D. And it was only a couple years old, not sure why it failed so soon, the GPs in my 79 300TD w/ 85 turbo are at least 8 years old and all still 100%, I checked recently and was amazed, they are Bosch.
If you get that '99 then look for Beru GP's p/n 001.159.21.01 = Beru 0.100.226.235
