1982 240D auto 215k miles
AC works
All original drivetrain
All manual controls (windows, temperature).
Very simple, reliable, last-forever car.

I bought the car 13 years ago from the second owner who drove it up to Ottawa ON from Arizona where he had lived and owned the car for many years. He was single and religiously maintained it at MB dealers.

I have maintained it myself and with the help of an indie european mechanic.
Always garage parked, it has never seen a Canadian winter so has no rust and has NEVER HAD rust. Mostly original paint except for right rear panel and driver door (parking lot scratches that previous owner had repaired).

Mechanically it runs very well, don't think it needs anything (except a speedo cable, which I have, because it's been a bit on-off in the last year or so). Probably needs some fiddling with door lock vaccum.
I haven't driven it much in last 3 years because of cottage restoration project and other vehicles. In 13 years I may have put 15,000 miles on it. Purely pleasure spring-summer driving.

Time may have come to let it go, since I just acquired an 83 300TD for hauling stuff to from the cottage. The TD is not as nice shape as the 240, but is more practical for me.

I swapped the TD driver seat so the 240D now has a seam tear in it. Otherwise, interior is very nice, couple of small cracks in the dash, which had been replaced by previous owner.

Anyway, I'm not in a hurry to sell, and if I can't get my price I will hang onto it. Looking to get $4500, which I think is a fair price for a solid 240D with zero rust in these north-east parts. Thought I'd offer it up here before putting up for local tire-kickers and low-ball artists.

Swapped back the original seat in it, so it's all original and in fine condition inside. Still need to fix the speedo cable before selling it.
