Try unplugging the electrical connector to the kick down switch below/behind the throttle pedal and drive it around. Chances are it may resolve the issue. If its just a sticking kickdown, thats a quick fix and then the car is back to having some value!

So i went to unplug the kickdown switch and it was already unplugged. I plugged it in and dorve it around for about 15 minutes. It got up to temp and shifted through all the gears. When i went to wot it would not kickdown to the lower gear however it did feel like it had some more power as opposed to driving it without the kickdown switch unplugged. Any thoughts?

Depending on the settings of the shift (bowden) cable it may or may not downshift on its own from a WOT position. Ideally it should but some seem to not want to. You can also use the shifter to downshift. If going along in 4th, pull the selector down to 3rd and it should downshift....then back to D to go to 4th again. Its possible the trans is just fine but may need a fluid/filter change. If it shifts firm through each gear normally I would say its probably fine.
