Exclamation 1995 Mercedes W124 E300 Diesel FOR SALE

SOLD TO TOM!!!!.

Hey guys, been a while since ive posted but, I'm looking to sell my E300 Diesel in hopes of paying a few bills off and, getting my 240D back on the road with the suspension and steering parts that it needs.

Anyway, so Im the 3rd owner, the car has 201K on it, bought it with 182K about 1.5 years ago. I have put roughly $4,300 worth of parts into it, yes that's right, $4,300. The car was worn out when I got it, need all new suspension components, have all receipts and even put it on an excel spread sheet.

I am asking $3,800 FIRM for forum members ONLY. Otherwise im trying to get near $4500-$5000. Contact me via PM on the forum here and i can send additional details.

Below is a link to the Craigslist Ad which includes pictures.

Note that this does have rust as it was a midwest car all its life... nothing you can see but, here and there. ALso the DS rear QP had a slop rust 'fix' job done to it, was like that when I bought it.

ANyways, thought Id offer it to you guys. In a bind, and for sure loosing my a$$ but, first one with the $ takes it. Title in hand.

1995 Mercedes-Benz E300 Diesel **SPECIAL EDITION**

I went up and checked this car out today, made a deal with Matt and left a deposit.

...to put in my Studebaker?

Hmmmm, never thought of that!

Great idea!

Not! This is going to be my driver.

What kind of a man do you take me for???????

(Don't answer that)

That's good to hear! It runs like a pickle seeder. Smooth and pretty quiet. Needs rear diff bushings though.

Every once in awhile some of us at least get this urge to buy another car. I have had it for the last couple of months myself. So far have not found anything that I really want yet. A couple have interested me but are two far away.

One was a 500sec converted with the 617. Then I remembered that this body has a leveling coat of fill over the body from the factory. It eventually cracks and separates from the panels. Too much work to make it right and if you leave a spot and it cracks or separated say a year later your nice body job is damaged. Mercedes mixed panels of aluminium and steel on the 500secs I remembered.

If I saw the right convertible 107 type and the price was right might convert it myself as the conversion is not that hard or expensive. One attraction is that I never owned a convertible as well. Again though it is a distance issue as to get a no rust body means the southern states pretty well. I am trying to exercise patience at this point. Just waiting to see what turns up. It would be nice to find a really nice one with a marginal engine instead of having to restore the whole car. Possibly cheaper and much less labour as well over the long haul. If there was not substantially more work to drop a 606 engine in I might consider that as well. Will just have to wait and see I guess.

Thanks. It needs some serious money invested to be sharp but it seems very sound mechanically. I like the idea of the (relatively) high performance six cylinder four valve non turbo diesel.

I also like the possibility of swapping in a five speed. Since an automatic can take a dump anytime I may have the conversion parts stashed pre-emptively.

I was actually hoping to find a sharp 190d five speed but was very disappointed to find they have the automatic AC controls too....then this one appeared.

What, exactly, makes it a "Special Edition"?

I didn't think to ask. I wondered that when I first looked at the ad too.

I know there were "Grand Editions" of the 140 chassis in the 90's...

Jim,

I think it's a trim option and a badge. Nothing mechanical.
