'90 300se F.s. 273k reduced to $4250

I hate to think of selling this car, but I have purchased a BMW 525. Although the miles are high, it has been really well cared for. It's been a salesman's car all it's life so most miles are highway.

It has been cared for by the same shop since it had 60K on it, so I have records that are 90% complete for the first 60K and 100% for the last 215K. Description is as follows on a scale from 1-10.

Body 8.5, very few dings, Astral silver paint shiny and in very good shape.

Interior 9.0, light grey, would be a 10 but a little wear on the drivers seat and a crack on the top of the door panel about the size of a quarter. Rest of interior is flawless.

Mechanical 8.0, everything works except the sun roof (tracks I think) and the drivers seat memory, (seat works fine). It had a new MB rebuilt tranny @ 215K and shifts fine. Valve guides and seals were done about 110K ago, might need again in another 25 -30K. Recently replaced the water pump, flushed colling system and new MB coolant, new alternator, replaced smog pump, belts, hoses, cap, rotor and plugs. Last week put on new front pads and rotors and rear pads. A/C was worked on and blows very cold, still uses R12.

I had the timing chain cover re-sealed last summer. It uses about 1/2 qt. oil every 1000 miles. I did a compression check about 10K ago and got readings of 165-170 on all cylinders.

I have mixed emotions about selling it, but the desire for a new set of wheels is distracting me too much, so I better scratch the itch and get on with life. (aint that pathetic?).

If I was afraid of it's being un-reliable, I'd just trade it in and let someone else deal with it. I would rather it go to someone who understands and appreciates what a Mercedes is.

I looked it up and KBB, shows a trade-in value with these miles of $4900.00 I'd like to get as close to that as possible. This is a really clean car for its age and milesand would make a great daily driver.

If there is any interest, I will email pictures.

Thanks,

I've decided to put this back on the market. I'll try and figure out how to post some pictures.

What do you think you'll buy to replace it?

A W140?
A W210?
A W124?

I bought a BMW 525i 5 speed in April. I guess I'm going through the second childhood thing. I like it a lot, but it doesn't "glide" down the road like my Benz.
