FS, Make Offer: 1984 300D Portland Ore.
I'm offering for sale my sister's 1984 300D, which she says has got to go! Her daughter has had a couple unfortunate accidents as you can see from the pics. It has an Oregon salvage title, since the car was "officially totaled" from the damages. Looks like everything should "buff right out!" The car is in Portland, Ore. and is a rust free NW car. She bought it in 2007 with 172k for around $5k. It now has 201k. It was a beautiful car.
I am considering having it shipped to me in Ohio, but wanted to offer it up to the forum members first, to see what you might think it's worth and to make me an offer. According to my sister, she says it still runs great. Unfortunately, I've not seen or driven it so can't give any real report, but she always calls with questions regarding service, etc, so I believe it has been pretty well maintained as far as fluid changes, filters, etc. .

Wrong coast or I'd be limping it home on illegal tags right now.

Both sides and the nose, too bad. If your niece is such a lousy driver, might it make sense to keep her driving a nice, big, safe car like this one?

Wow, she has done a good job on it hasn`t she? At least she didn`t knock off the Hood Star.
I she grounded for life, or do they have something in mind for her? maybe a H1 Hummer. Interior looks good, though blue isn`t my favorite interior color. Broken wood on Glove Box door. Crack free blue dash is rare to find, I would replace it with a black one and sell the blue one. there was one that sold for around $600. Looks like sheet metal damage mostly, but to fix all this is pricy to have a shop do it. The parts can be sourced in the PNP`s, may not find the right colors, but can be painted. things like Doors, Hood, Fenders, Grill can be DIY R&R. Body damage can get pricy and the DIY selfer generally doesn`t have the skills to repair it properly, or have the place at home to do the painting. Probably $500 in parts (You Pull) inviro fees, taxes etc... might be more, and then have parts painted could cost $2000. This car was probably worth $3500 before she coustomized it. I wouldn`t pay much more than $1000 for it. In one of the first pictures, looks like another W123 sitting next to it. Charlie

Well was a nice car, looks more like it belong to a old lady who couldn't back out of parking spaces.....though now a days seeing teens on phones, while driving.....I can understand it....
Agreed on the price now....remember to have a car re registered as salvage they have to go through a brake and lamp inspection.....doing mine in California was a pita and cost me 600$

In all fairness to my niece, the R side damages were a hit n run in a parking lot, but she rear-ended a Land Rover with the big ol' wheel and tire on the back which caused the front end damage, no harm done to the Rover. Don't know what happened on the L side. Good eyes Charlie, that's my brother-in-laws 300D. We love 'em!

That kind of reminds me of my first car when I was done with it. Did I mention I had to teach myself how to drive?
That looks like an excellent candidate for buying cheap and driving as is until it quits. Unfortunately, the blue interior heats up too quick in the summer. I had one in my 240D. Re-registering a salvage titled car in Nevada is pretty easy. I know a shop that will sign off a safety inspection for $25. After that it's just the normal title and registration fees.

Stop killing 123s
This always makes me sad, I understand why parents buy these cars for their kids, but I hate seeing what they do to them, especially when I can't find a decent one! Glad these were just minor bumps with no injuries - I vote parents just buy their kids a Volvo and leave the lovely 123 & 126's for us!!!
