'90 300D ~ $750

EDIT** ~ Yikes, what was I thinking ~ It's a 300E

Was sitting a few years. Owner died of cancer recently. New brakes, shocks, exhaust and A/C system gone through before sitting I'm told [he was getting it ready for the road]. Started regularly though and it started right away for me with a fresh battery. Just had some good used tires installed on OEM wheels. It has some mildew which we cleaned including removing the seats [fronts still out] and a smell because the rear window leaks at the top [needs a seal or caulked]. Light cream interior from a '94 E400 available cheap with purchase.

A little TLC and it would make a great driver or for parts of you choose.

$750 w title or trade me a good riding mower and/or?

Here's the interior from a '94 400E [the rear seat is already in the car] that you can have for cheap. The original front seats I removed to clean and the rear seat back was broken anyway but usable if you wanted.

In response to some inquiries.............. It does run surprisingly good after I put in a couple gallons of fresh gas and a fuel treatment yesterday. It had spit and sputtered now it runs smoothly, I guess the old gas is burning better with some fresh gas. I've driven it around a few miles and it stops, steers, runs, rides and drives good. All the lights and signals seem to work. All of the dash "idiot" lights work and none come on while driving except the bulb out indicator which I believe is due to the disconnected center 3rd taillight.

The front seats are removed because I was cleaning it real good and I intended to install the newer interior [rear seat is already in] but my daughter decided she wanted a W123 like the one I had so I abruptly gave up. I've been driving it around with a metal bin and a boat cushion as a drivers seat but that is neither safe nor legal to drive any distance.

It might just be dependable enough to drive away a decent distance after I've taken it down the road a few times but that's your call. It would definitely need a drivers seat installed though and proper registration. I've been asked if it would drive a 100- 1,000 miles home and I think it would but I'm not guaranteeing, nor advising it will even drive a foot.

I had a guy supposed to let me know this morning and a few others have expressed interest . I also have a local posting on craigslist so first come first serve from this moment on.

Any questions, comments or otherwise, please post here or PM me.

Thanks!

I think you should try and burn off whatever old gas you have in there and put in a completely full tank of fresh gas. I had an idling issue with my 300E after doing my head gasket repair that concerned me, but the gas had been in the tank for about three months. After it burned off it ran perfectly fine.

Good luck with your sale.

I've already added some new gas and and additive and reported above that it runs smoothly now. I took it for another ride a little while ago and it's running great. For the $ someone's going to get a great deal.

Thanks

Another update: No it's not rusty at all, it had some kind of scrape on the passenger front wheel lip in the past where the paint came off and that's got some surface rust is all. A little prep and paint and that's taken care of.

Car is in Sunset Beach, NC

I'm in N Myrtle Beach about 7 miles away

SOLD

FYI sellers: I had to deal with more idiots here ["I'll take it", "How can I send payment and have a local family member pick up", "please call me" but no answer or call back] than I have on craigslist. Maybe $750 is too much for a pretty decent, running, driving Mercedes now?? Maybe even Mercedes enthusiasts think they're not worth anything? I don't know.......... but I do know it's not worth the effort to bother posting a for sale ad here.

If you want to sell your car to an enthusiast, sell it here.

If you want to sell your car for your asking price to whoever, sell it locally on craigslist.

Pretty sure every member here knows this by now, so I'm not exactly sure that calling us all "idiots" is really justified...

colincoon: First off, nobody called you an idiot.

The referenced persons PM'd just to play games and waste time I guess. It seems there's nothing but wasted time trying to sell something on the forums anymore. I tried to be fair and give seemingly interested persons, especially those whom claim they want it but just need to know how & where to send the $. But instead it really only ended up costing me a few more days and other buyers, telling them it was tentatively sold.

It was priced fairly for any venue. It's not my first rodeo.
