98 E300 $10,000

Greetings All!
I have decided to sell my beautiful 98 E300. It has 105,000 miles on it and is a great car. I have developed the need for a big diesel pickup truck.
I currently have it posted on CL and here is the link for pictures.
98 Mercedes E300 Turbodiesel

If anyone here is interested, just send me a pm.

Thanks!

Hi Wayne, sounds very nice. Can you please describe the condition of the finish outside and if its been garaged or not?

The finish is in excellent condition, shiny and easy to wax. There are a few tiny driving related specks. It has been an outdoor car on and off for the last couple of years. I had a carport that was taken out by a tree back in January. Fortunately the car wasn't under it at the time. My 75 Triumph wasn't so lucky. I am the third owner and for most of its life, it was a garaged car. It is a beautiful car and if I sell it, I will probably kick myself.

I bought if from a guy in Orlando, Fl. He bought it from an estate sale. There is absolutely no indication of any exposure to salt or ocean air. I am pretty sure I have the original invoice/window sticker and records from the guy I bought it from. The guy I bought it from changed all of the fluids and belts and had the glow plugs replaced. Since I have owned it, I had the sunroof rails upgraded by an independent MB shop in Knoxville. The shop in Knoxville also took care of a mystery problem. The electric windows and seat controls would stop working until you disconnected and reconnected the battery. He said he was familiar with the problem and that the problem was caused by the rear window controls so he actually disconnected the rear window controls and the problem was cured. No problems in over 6 months. It was happening every couple of days.

rear window controls

I'm confused. So, are the rear window controls still disconnected or did he have to clean the contacts or what?

I turned down $11,990, twice in fact, for the '99 E300TD 130K I bought new, in tip top condition, always garaged, all records, nothing wrong with it whatsoever, heated seats, (absolutely clear/like new headlamp lenses)......and loaded-up. But that was in 2011.

Millen is about an hour N of here. I'm willing to ride up and take a look for a nominal fee.

Sorry folks but I have decided to keep my car. It was just a momentary touch of madness.

Wanna trade for a 2000 Dodge diesel Dakota, 4x4, Crew Cab? It comes with a Cummins 4BT and a Dodge 47RE transmission swapped.

Click on the linked to CL ad provided above, (see esp. the headlamp lense appearance/condition) on making a call on it's past garaging.
