Shertex, why aren't you getting it? Quahog , what you need is a minivan. That will leave people without any false impressions. And it really hammers it home when it's called a "Nissan Quest".

I just got two recently. A 2000 Nissan quest and a 2005 chrysler town and country- the cadillac of minivans). They are awesome. A boat carpenter's dream. My dream too. No doubt a dogs too. Ok, any intelligent creature.

The quest has a blown tranny and I haven't seen it yet but hear its perfect , sunroof, leather, etc. I'm going to get tranny rebuilt and sell or I would trade you.

The chrysler ive had a month. I've been meaning to confess. It Has roof rack and all the seats in rear fold into the bottom and you can haul plywood or camp or whatever. It's so cool. And the ac is ice cold with a rear unit too. the "wood" trim is awfully familiar too.

I'm keeping one and selling/trading one. I have a 1996 parts car I can get seats from if they fit.

Just imagine yourself In a Nissan Quest.

not a jew, but I am a carpenter

while I'm here...got my first ever professional detail in advance of ChowdaQ, I always miss spots. Turned out super but the boys must have knocked off a wheel weight or two because the trip to NH following event was super shaky. Had the local tire shop balance all 4 yesterday and yep, way out of spec. Drives like new now.
Last spring I had my new neighbor in the next bay with auto biz do the summer tire change-over. Price was much lower than the tire pro used recently & in past, but I suspect that they have been a little off this whole time. Not making that mistake again.

I guess its true about the good/fast/cheap saying after all. Pick two.

There are a cr@pload of new pics to resize and upload, but I have to make some meatballs first. Sorry. I have to answer to a higher power here.

Quahog knows I'd very much like to become his car's new owner. BUT, I first have to sell EITHER my 95 E300 OR my 1990 190E. I thought I had a buyer (a forum member) for the 95, but that fell through.

Five cars is really our family's absolute limit these days.

minivan loathing

The day after I purchased my first sportbike, I developed a hatred for minivans that remains to this day

Also, I gave up a well sorted 96 Honda Accord wagon for this car, the last year you could get one, because Honda decided to focus on minivans instead of wagons and didn't offer them again. Grrrrr. Thanks guys.

Oh good

that 'splains it. I didn't think I resembled the man very much, but was going to give Pete the benefit of the doubt.

Darn. No 1999 300d for me then. I dont quite see the connection between sportbike and minivan hatred. Did you get hit by one or was the minivan so unsporty after riding a bike? I gotta say mine is fast with the 3.3 liter v6 but yeah is top heavy so that kills any chance at sporting around in it. But I go for fuel economy so try not to have to use the brakes. I'm gonna find the diesel engine they exported it with and swap it one day. I hate gassers. They seem so dumb and they stink.

Honda ruined the odyssey too. It used to be shorter and they turned it into a minivan. One of those old ones would be cool, before they were minivans.

Oh well , I didn't need it. Good luck with the sale.

let me take a shot: the minute you start riding you really get to appreciate just how many clueless, no-driving, imbeciles happen to drive them....it is actually hatred for the bad drivers that is displaced onto the poor, innocent mini van

While we're at it, can we include hatred for cheap, poorly-made, tiny engine small cars that people seem to love adding gargantuan spoilers and hugenormous rims to, then covering with stickers and plastic fake "accessories" like the artificial fender turbo inlets?

I saw a real nice set of BBS RS's put onto a miniature Kia recently, which was also lowered to the point of scraping the ground at every slight bump and had the wheels angled so the bottoms stuck out farther than the tops and the outside of the tires didnt even touch the ground. Maybe they were stretched tires too. I should have "saved" the RS's from such a terrible fate but they were probably already damaged from misuse.

perceptions

I appears Raptelan does resemble the popular, if possibly inaccurate depiction of Jesus.

Nothing ruins a good ride faster than having a minivan in the left lane derping along, obliviously driving speedlimit w/o moving over for overtaking vehicles. It is difficult to see what is ahead of them & dangerous to undertake. This behavior is of course not limited to them, but their size make it difficult to evaluate safe passing strategy.

Pete: you are absolutely correct. a minivan would be perfect for what I need, but no one could ever talk any sense into me(sorry Mom). I gotta do things Sinatra style: my way.
