Anyone see this yet? 1994 w124 wagon

Check this out:

Mercedes-Benz : E-Class W-124 Wagon in Mercedes-Benz | eBay Motors

I'm not ready for another one yet, but this would be nice to have! No mention of head gasket which makes me a little leery though.

Does anyone know what the difference is between a 94 and a 95?

Also, would there be any additional emissions issues (sensors/equipment) because this is a California car, or are they the same regardless of state?

Polished wheels for 95.

Different engine wiring harness, although the break is not strictly on model year....

Other than that,not much....

I'm not sure those wheels are any different than 94, Jim. they look polished? Got to stop typing now as the keyboard is filling up with drool.

With that low mileage chances are none of the problems associated would have surfaced yet. But man, the big question is, where has it been? Every bushing and gasket and wear item would be suspect. But for $5K I'd take it and invest the other $1500 or so to sort it out. Someone will grab all that hype and blow up the price I bet. I'm watching this one.

Just a dumb-ass question. One I've always wondered (and possibly for future reference)... Could a W124 wagon pull another one across country? Assume top condition, fresh trans and diff service, coolant and all liquids...

I am definitely putting a hitch on mine int he near future for motorcycle trailering, but that's nothing... maybe 150# at the hitch.

What say ye, wise council of W124 owners?

If it's in top condition, why risk it? Risk it with a beater.

I'm sure it'll pull a twin. Tongue weight will have to be carefully set. Good luck keeping it going straight with trailer weighing more than tow vehicle. Better luck stopping

Jim is right.

1995 is the only year the 8 hole wheels on a W124 were polished and clear coated.

1992-1994 were painted silver and clear coated.

Edit....but after reading the auction, the car has replacement 16" wheels, so the above issue is irrelevant.

Did you see something about the price? You mention 5K and $1500, are you just throwing those number out there?

I gotta think this one will go for $8500-$9000.

She's got 16" wheels on her too!

Just bloviating. The market will speak re price. Skinnison, my thinking is you're $1500 to $2000 too high. Vamos a ver...

P.S. What's that fender badge on the wagon? Me no gots.

It's not a "fender badge" in your words, but is the European side marker lamp.

Also, it has an after market S600 style grill insert, and it's missing the load strips on the roof. I say this car has been resprayed, including the front impact strips and bumper surround. If buying this vehicle, I would want to know why.

He says the tailgate and lower panels were painted because of fading, which I can buy, as mine have faded. The load strips on the roof puzzled me as well. Were they stock? If so, how are they attached? Would the roof have to be sprayed if they were removed?

It's almost at $5k.

I honestly didn't think it'd go this high.

Do not understand why this listing caught your eyes. Nothing special. 3 owners with 58K is a bit fishy to me. None of them drove much?
